Storyline

'Second to None' is a documentary that celebrates the achievements of women that led up to, and resulted from, the 1972 Title IX legislation that created opportunities for girls and young women in America. The documentary consists of six episodes which inspire, educate and promote understanding of the issues and obstacles that have confronted American women. The first episode explores the suffragette movement of the 1800s that led to women getting the vote in 1920. The next five episodes explore a different career path that was opened and/or enhanced by Title IX and other legislation - education, aviation, business/entrepreneurship, sports and politics. The extraordinary stories in the documentary are often told by the women themselves who overcame the odds to do great things. Written by Anonymous
