Season 1 showed potential. Season 2 is sink or swim.
17 June 2013 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

I was excited when this show came out, and after watching season 1, I was feeling like this show has the potential to be good. Season 2 has come along, and has really left a bad and unsettling taste in my mouth. This show has no balance, no substance, no on-screen chemistry, and has no direction whatsoever. It's almost to the point where they should seriously think about repackaging the show and recasting it altogether.

This show can be presented in so many different platforms. Charlie Sheen as an Anger Management Therapist can work, but rather than having group sessions at home and at the prison, it should be more of a one on one session and have his patients be a revolving door of characters. Their back-stories, reasons for them being there, and their elements of crazy and unstable actions should create for better character development and interpretation. With his current "patients", we're in the middle of season 2, and we have no idea who these people are, why they're in anger management therapy, and why anybody should care.

While it was smart to have his real life father play his dad, those two are the only ones on the show with any visible on-screen chemistry. Every character from his wife to his patients have no sense of identity or relevance to the show. Even with cameos from Slash, Denise Richards, and Lindsay Lohan, the show hasn't really developed into anything other than a struggling comedy with its viewers searching for reasons to watch the show.

I'm sticking it out to see what comes out of season 2, but if I don't see any real improvements, this show will lose my interest entirely, and I'll be looking for something else to watch.
