Great film about the post-life of a football player from an all Black cast
"The Last Fall" is a story about a 25 year old football player Kyle Bishop portrayed by budding star Lance Gross who gets cuts from his 4th team in 3 years. This story is about adjusting to life after football but it's more than a sports theme drama. It a story an adjusting to change and what a young man has to do make change and sacrifices after things doesn't workout. Director-Writer Matthew Cherry does a great job showcasing Lance Gross as a lead actor and this seems to be Gross' breakout film. Gross has been eye candy for a few years for female viewers but this proves that Gross has potential as an star. The script is well-placed together nothing too special but Gross and his female co- star the extremely talented and beautiful Nicole Beharie is wonderful is his high-school sweetheart who he falls back in love with. Beharie as well seems destined for greatness. Both carried this film with an amazing cast including Vanessa Bell Calloway, Keith David, Michael Moss, Harry Lennix, Darrin Henson, and Obba Babatunde. It's sad that this film didn't reach a larger audience besides the premiere on BET and showing at SXSW festival. I recommend this film to people who choose to watch it.
