Rachel McAdams and Jason Bateman to star in New Line comedy Game Night

Rachel McAdams (Doctor Strange) is in negotiations to join Jason Bateman (Zootopia) in New Line Cinema’s upcoming Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley-directed comedy Game Night.

The project, which is being produced by Bateman and James Garavente through their production company Aggregate Films and John Davis and John Fox through Davis Entertainment, centers around “a group of couples who gather for their regularly planned game night when something goes murderously wrong.”

Bateman has been attached to the project for a few months now as a producer, but only recently signed on to star.

The film sounds like it could be a great ensemble comedy, and it surely will line up a talented cast in the weeks to come. Bateman is coming off of Office Christmas Party, which was largely panned by critics despite its adept ensemble, so hopefully Game Night delivers where that movie wasn’t able to.

Benjamin Bratt Listed Among The Cast Of Marvel's Doctor Strange

With Mads Mikkelsen playing Kaecilius and Chiwetel Ejiofor playing Baron Karl Mordo, all the early fan favorites to play Dormammu  have assumed other roles.  Unless he's being saved for the sequel, the film needs to cast someone to play the master of the Dark Dimension.  Could that be who Benjamin Bratt is playing?  Marvel has not made any announcements to alert the public that Bratt is in the film so either his role is minor or he's playing a character that they want to leave a surprise until opening night.  Who do you think Bratt (52) could be playing?  Recently, he's been doing a lot of voice over work (Justice League: Gods and Monsters, Despicable Me 2, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2) which is pretty much all the role of Dormammu would require.  Of course, this is only speculation (and maybe wishful thinking) so until we hear something official

'Spider-Man' Animated Movie Logo Revealed

'Spider-Man' Animated Movie Logo Revealed
The big news out of last night's Sony Pictures presentation at CinemaCon was the new Spider-Man Tom Holland taking the stage, where the official title Spider-Man: Homecoming was unveiled. However, that wasn't the only Spidey news that came out of the convention, with the studio unveiling the official logo for their Untitled Animated Spider-Man Project, which is arriving in theaters sometime in 2018. Here's what Sony Pictures Animation president Kristine Belson had to say about the project last night.

"(It's) a vision of Spider-man that will take your breath away. Conceptually and visually, it will break new ground for the superhero genre."

We first reported on the animated Spider-Man almost exactly one year from today, when Sony announced the project at last year's CinemaCon. The studio had original scheduled the movie for July 20, 2018, but back in December, the studio shifted the release date to December 21, 2018. Unfortunately, the studio didn't offer any plot details regarding this project,

Justin Theroux Wrote Zoolander 2, Plus 15 More Actors You Didn't Know Are Also Screenwriters
"That Justin Theroux guy - where do I know him from?" Depending on whom you ask, you could get a great many answers. Of course, he's the husband of Jennifer Aniston, but he's had a string of notable acting roles too. He could be that guy from The Leftovers, the actor who played the hapless director character in Mulholland Drive, Leslie Knope's short-lived boyfriend on Parks and Recreation, or even the bad guy from Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle. However, Theroux is also a screenwriter, and he's credited with a handful of major films that casual movie-goers might not associate with him.

Marvel's Spider-Man: Everything you need to know, including spoilers, plot details and release date

Marvel's Spider-Man: Everything you need to know, including spoilers, plot details and release date
It might have taken a failed reboot and a widely publicised hacking scandal, but it finally happened. After years upon years of resistance, Sony finally relented and gave Spider-Man back to Marvel in big-screen form.

The two studios will technically be co-producing the upcoming Spider-Man, but it'll fit into the Marvel Cinematic Universe and share no DNA with either of Marc Webb's Amazing chapters.

When's it out?

The as-yet-untitled next Spider-Man movie will bow on July 28, 2017, making it the fourth film in McU's Phase Three – James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is released just a couple of months before. Filming is slated to begin in June 2016.

But you won't have to wait until 2017 to see Tom Holland's new Peter Parker in action, since he'll make his first appearance next year in the jam-packed Captain America: Civil War.

Who's involved?

19-year-old Holland will play the youngest version

Vacation movie review: stay home

All homophobic, xenophobic, scatological grossout, with some rape and pedophilia “jokes” for flavor. How did this happen? I’m “biast” (pro): have hazy good memories of the 1980s films…

I’m “biast” (con): …but really tired of reboot fever

(what is this about? see my critic’s minifesto)

For those playing along at home, we’ve gone from — in the 1983 movie Vacation — the comedic stylings of Harold Ramis (director), John Hughes (screenwriter), and Chevy Chase (star) to — in this new sequel/reboot — the desperate flailings of John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein (writer-directors) and Ed Helms (star). Vacation is yet another example of screenwriters with no experience directing features being given the keys to a studio film, which is one of those great Hollywood tricks that defies all sense. And never mind the directing job! Daley and Goldstein are counterindicated just to write the script alone: they

Movie Review – Vacation (2015)

Vacation, 2015.

Written and Directed by John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein.

Starring Ed Helms, Christina Applegate, Leslie Mann, Chris Hemsworth, Skyler Gisondo, Steele Stebbins, Chevy Chase, Beverly D’Angelo, Charlie Day, and Michael Pena.

Synopsis:

The Griswold’s drives cross-country to Walley World in this inspired reboot of the 1983 original so Rusty reconnect with his family.

It’s important to note this film is a continuation of the National Lampoon’s Vacation series as Ed Helms takes the role as Rusty Griswold, the fourth actor to do so, and is now a father of his own. The inspiration for this Griswold to take this eerily similar trip, which the film explicitly notes the technical difference that this trip will have two sons and not a son-daughter duo, is identical to the original – for the family to be closer together in a cramped space. Ed, now portraying Rusty as the patriarch,

'Spider-Man' Reboot Humor Will Serve as a "Safety Net for Geeks"

Screenwriters John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein gave us Horrible Bosses, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 and this weekend's Vacation. I'll allow you to come to a conclusion on their body of work on your own as I'll have more to add with my review of Vacation later this week, but for now realize these two are signed on to write the screenplay for the upcoming Untitled Spider-Man Reboot, which is said to be approaching the webslinger with an eye for humor in the vein of John Hughes. It's definitely a new tact when it comes to tackling these comic book movies as the common theme for so long seemed to be a "dark and gritty" approach with celebs saying, "It's going to be a lot like The Dark Knight," in all of their pre-production interviews. Marvel, however, has taken the light and frothy,
