Storyline

Janey and Michael give their parents a Spanish holiday as an anniversary present but Michael has used Ben's credit card to finance it and needs to replace the money quickly so he contacts 'Cash In the Attic', finding that the only sale worth a four figure sum is Susan's beloved antique clock. Ben and Susan meanwhile find themselves in quarantine with a bore, a nervous wreck and a singing nun but show rare unity in seeing them all off. However, will they notice the clock's absence on their return? Written by don @ minifie-1

Running out of steam, but interesting enough
12 February 2017 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

When long running shows run out of ideas they often go for rehashes of plots they've done before. And that's what 'My Family' does here, taking the plot of the series 4 Christmas special where the Harpers got stuck on a tube, and moving the action to a plane instead.

There are some mildly amusing moments in this episode, but more so than ever it seems as though the writers are relying on Lindsay and Wannamaker (especially Lindsay) to make more of a so-so script.

As seemed to be the case by this stage the B story was Janey and Michael together, and that again provides some small laughs.

The show wasn't on top form by this late stage, but it was mildly amusing enough.
