Sure, the story-line was good. Fran wins a trip to Mexico and doesn't know who to take-her ex-husband or her friend Gail. What is she to do? This could have been very funny, but I'm sure that many viewers were turned off by the following statement:
Fran thought that making this decision was similar to Sophie's Choice. This is a disgusting statement to make in that it trivializes the holocaust. Remember when "Golden Girls" was replaced by "Golden Palace?" In one episode, a Spanish child asks Sophia to hide her. Sophia's response: "What am I Anne Frank?" The show received flack for this statement and "Happily Divorced" deserves the same. Shame that the writers of this series would resort to such poor taste.
