To celebrate the home entertainment release of Bushwick, available on DVD and Blu-ray 23rd October, we have a copy of the film on DVD up for grabs, courtesy of Kaleidoscope Entertainment!

It’s Guardians of the Galaxy star Dave Bautista versus an entire Texas battalion in New York City in this all-out action thriller from the makers of Cooties and Stake Land.

Here, front and centre as Stupe, a take no prisoners ex-Marine on the warpath against a Texas militia invading New York, Bushwick establishes Bautista – soon to be seen in Blade Runner 2049 – as an action hero on a par with Vin Diesel and The Rock. A “Babysitter” McG Tries With

20 October 2017 12:03 PM, PDT | Age of the Nerd | See recent Age of the Nerd news »

Ah, the Halloween season. The weather’s cooling down, the sun’s setting earlier, the leaves are browning and pumpkins are being carved for decoration and pies. It also means you’re sure to find a couple of new scary movies trying to make their genre marks while holding their own against the classics. And while Hollywood is currently focused on the horror of lascivious producers, Netflix and director McG are focused on getting their fantastical little yarn called The Babysitter out to thrill and make you laugh. The success rate of that, unfortunately, isn’t what it should be.

From the onset, preteen protagonist Cole (“Demolition”’s Judah Lewis) is a checklist of every movie nerd stereotype turned up to 12: terrified of Everything (even his own shadow would be afraid of its shadow), dresses like an outdated 1990s computer programmer, bullied by the older kids and has one »

Trailer Watch: A Family’s Life Goes to the Dogs in Marianna Palka’s “Bitch”

20 October 2017 7:01 AM, PDT | Women and Hollywood | See recent Women and Hollywood news »

Bitch

“We thought you’d be home. I postponed dinner as long as I could,” Jill (Marianna Palka) says as she leaves a message for her husband, Bill (Jason Ritter, “Parenthood”), in the new trailer for “Bitch.” “There’s a dog watching me,” she adds in a trembling voice.

You see, Jill’s having a hard time of it. Bill is never at home, is cheating on her, and doesn’t listen when she talks to him. She takes care of their four kids on her own, and they are sort of terrible (“Mom! Can we go in this century, please?”). Growing more and more desperate, Jill finally cracks — and begins behaving like an aggressive dog. Literally.

“I read and heard a story that Scottish doctor R.D. Laing had a patient who had empty nest syndrome when her kids grew up and left the house and it was so fascinating to me,” writer-director-star Palka told us when “Bitch” screened at Sundance. With Laing’s patient in mind, she decided to explore what it would mean if an unhappy woman acted like an actual bitch.

“Women deserve all of their civil and human rights,” Palka stressed. “No one needs to use the term ‘bitch’ against anyone else, unless they’re literally talking about a female dog. Because no one is actually that term. So let’s find a better word.”

Along with appearing in projects like “Glow,” “Girls,” and “Scottish Mussel,” Palka has helmed and acted in the features “I’m the Same,” “Good Dick,” and “Always Worthy.” Frequent collaborator Ritter also appears in the latter two. Palka’s next project, the dark motherhood comedy “Egg,” is in post-production. It stars Christina Hendricks (“Mad Men”), Alysia Reiner (“Orange Is the New Black”), and Anna Camp (“Pitch Perfect” franchise).

Bitch” hits theaters and VOD November 10.

'The Babysitter' or 'Happy Death Day': Which Horror Flick to Watch This Friday the 13th

13 October 2017 1:00 PM, PDT | Entertainment Tonight | See recent Entertainment Tonight news »

Think of it as a Choose Your Own Adventure, but your only options are dying in a slasher or at the hands of a Satanic cult. All Hallows' Eve means ghouls and goblins, vampires and probably more Stranger Things kids this year, right? It’s also prime time for regulation hotties to try to survive a horror movie. And this Friday the 13th, you have two to choose from: The Babysitter and Happy Death Day, both out now.

For the Netflix and chills crowd, there's The Babysitter, which landed on the streaming platform at the stroke of midnight. The titular sitter is Bee (played by Aussie Samara Weaving), a Daisy Dukes-wearing, Star Trek-loving Manic Pixie Dream Senior. It's no wonder her charge, 12-year-old Cole (Judah Lewis), is hopelessly in love with her.

Bee also, y'know, dabbles in the occult and has a small deal with the devil, which Cole learns when he stays up past his bedtime »

Thanks to the Blockers Trailer, You Can Watch John Cena Butt-Chug a Beer

12 October 2017 9:22 AM, PDT | Popsugar.com | See recent Popsugar news »

How far would you go to c*ckblock your teenager? Not as far as John Cena, probably. The philanthropic wrestler - who is engaged to Nikki Bella but has no real-life kids of his own - plays a doting helicopter dad in Blockers, an upcoming comedy from Pitch Perfect's Kay Cannon. Cena stars alongside Leslie Mann and Ike Barinholtz, who join forces to keep their three daughters from having sex on prom night after stumbling upon their suggestive text messages. The Nsfw trailer contains classic one-liners like, "Let's c*ckblock those motherf*ckers," and "What would Vin Diesel do?" so yes, it's worth watching (oh, Cena also chugs a beer with his butt, Nbd). Check it out above before it hits theaters on April 6, 2018. »

How Chrissie Fit and 'Pitch Perfect 3' Are Challenging Latino Stereotypes (Exclusive)

6 October 2017 1:44 PM, PDT | Entertainment Tonight | See recent Entertainment Tonight news »

Chrissie Fit is challenging the status quo.

The 33-year-old actress portrays a different kind of Latina character in Pitch Perfect -- and one that will only evolve when the franchise's third installment hits theaters in December.

"A lot of the times you'll see the Latina character being overly sexual and loud, and then Flo is on the opposite end of the spectrum," Fit told Et over the phone on Monday. "She's dry, sarcastic and really soft spoken, so it's a cool thing to see the different representation."

Fit isn't exactly Flo, the foreign exchange student from Central America added to Pitch Perfect 2 -- but the character definitely hits close to home.

Will & Grace featured a very familiar face on Thursday. During the second episode of the rebooted series, appropriately titled "Who's Your Daddy?," Jack and Will get back into the dating game with a pool of much younger men. Seriously, if you didn't laugh out loud when he hit on Will, you're lying. So, who exactly is the 23-year-old swept away by Will's "anchor man" good looks? None other than Broadway star Ben Platt. ‘Blade Runner 2049’ Rave Reviews Bolster Social Media Buzz

Blade Runner 2049” topped social media buzz last week with 83,000 new conversations in the wake of the movie’s strong reviews, according to media-measurement firm comScore and its PreAct service.

The follow-up to Ridley Scott’s 1982 sci-fi classic “Blade Runner” has earned an impressive 96% score on Rotten Tomatoes. Variety’s Peter Debruge wrote in his review that the film “delves deep into the existential concerns suggested by the earlier film, as screenwriters Hampton Fancher (who also co-wrote the original) and Michael Green raise evocative questions about human-android relations and the nuances that will one day be used to tell them apart.”

Blade Runner 2049” is being distributed domestically by Warner Bros. through its output deal with Alcon Entertainment. Sony is the international distributor and production partner with Alcon Entertainment. The reboot, directed by Denis Villeneuve, stars Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford, who reprises his role of Rick Deckard.
