Trivia

Director Peter Atencio was planning to quit before the second season was complete because Comedy Central wanted the audience reactions to be part of the sound in the (pre-taped) sketches. Atencio and his team resisted throughout and eventually stayed on after the network changed their minds. The director wrote a blog about his experience on his Tumblr page. See more »

So tonight im gonna WATCH THAT- Chris Brown

When Dave Chappelle abruptly quit in the year 2005, Comedy Central tried several times to recreate the type of comedy that was Chappelle's Show. Mind of Mencia was a disaster, and left people thinking that a show like Dave Chappelle's would not come along again. And then, Keegan-Michael Key & Jordan Peele finally brought back the laughs that we remember in 2004. It started off kinda slow in the 1st season, but in all fairness MANY great shows (Seinfeld, The Office, etc) had a mediocre start. Once Season 2 got rolling, pretty much 90% of the sketches have been funny. The Obama Anger-Translator has been a fan favorite, but the duo are good at impersonating many celebrities and characters.

Like Chappelle, each sketch is introduced by Key & Peele before they show it, with a brief explanation of where the sketch came from. For example, before they showed the Bone Thugs and Homeless sketch, they joked about how they miss all the rap groups like Public Enemy and the Wu Tang Clan. Many of the sketches might be offensive to some people, but if you have a mature/good sense of humor then you will probably enjoy the show. All of the skits are also on Youtube, so if you wanna go there here are a few good ones: Fronthand Backhand, Pegasus Sighting, Liam Neesons, Racist Zombies, Slave Auction, and Rihanna with Chris Brown "Hit That"
