Storyline

Arrested by Delhi Police, Mussaddi Lal Tripathi admits his crime is because he is a 'common man'. Starting with his retirement as a school-teacher, and then the ailment and subsequent passing of his wife, Shanti, he sets about to perform last rites in a number of holy places along with his unemployed slacker-son, Bunty. After bribing railway employees for letting them travel without tickets, the duo are then fleeced by pundits who charge them an arm and a leg for performing Hindu cremation rites, and Bunty then leaves him after their clothes get stolen. Three months later, he returns home to find that both electricity and the phone have been disconnected due to non-payment of bills, & confusion reigns when bank officials accuse him of taking a loan. But the worst is yet to come when he will be deprived of any income after Pension and Accounts Office notify him that he is 'officially dead'. He will now be pitted against more corruption when he sets about to prove that he is very much ... Written by rAjOo (gunwanti@hotmail.com)

Trivia

The film's central plot and story (that of Musaddi, a school teacher, trying to prove that he is alive to get his pension) is based on the show's episode # 1 from the 1st season. Jokes like the pension office employees asking Musaddilal to prove that he is alive when in fact, he is asking them for pension; asking Musaddilal to bring any type of document to prove he is alive and Musaddilal slapping one of the corrupt pension officer are some of the sequences that can be seen in the film as well. When it released, all India was fighting against the corruption with the Anna hazaare. Whole surrounding environment was talking about corruption and at that time this movie came. It was the perfect time for the movie but still it wasn't so successful.

Story: Mussaddi Lal (Pankaj Kapoor), a retired school teacher goes on a pilgrimage for three months after his wife's death. When he returns, he finds his pension has been stopped and the pension office has declared him dead. What follows is his endless struggle against the petty corruption in the government office where the infamous gang of five which are determined to fleece him till the very end.

The movie is about aam aadmi (no not about mango man ya…common man) who faces corruption in every situation. Script is very well written and executed. To make a movie from serial is a tough work which Rajiv mehra (Director) has done very well.

In acting department there are all the actors which should be there in the movie. If I have to say anything about pankaj kapoor than I will say Hats Off to this man. He works so perfect as we feel that he is really that character.

All other has done good work but I loved Deven bhojani's work too much among them. He executed all the different characters very well and fitted perfectly in all situations. Hope will see him more in the movies also.

In end we can say that movie is totally fun ride with a serious message like corruption with strong acting by everyone.
