What the?

What in the confusing crazy story line did I just wasted 2 hours on this? A 7.5 ? Umm no. Possibly a 3-4 I gave it a 4. It was just to far fetched to believe. Although the crazy ex wife played a pretty good crazy ex. My husband and I both had a hard time trying to figure what in world was going on! But, I followed through with it, just to see the ending.

The last 30 minutes is the best part of the movie, the beginning had me wanting to change the channel but lifetime usually has good nightly movies. But, to each his own. I hope someone else can figure it out because it wasn't me. Alls well, that ends well :)

Better off broke than dead!!!
Chartreuse126 February 2023
This was a strange movie that started out nicely enough. David and Lauren are on their honeymoon in Atlanta when suddenly she gets snatched while they're out and about. And it's David's ex, Sadie, who has a twisted agenda, draining his financial assets he has and making Lauren go along with it by having her launder them to an offshore account so it's undetectable. But poor David doesn't know what happened to his wife and gets a PI who just happens to be on the scene to help him find her since the police are useless. Sadie is a psycho who swore revenge on David for breaking up with her. But does David ever put the pieces together and find his wife? You'll have to watch this one with an interesting twist at the end. I would recommend for a binge watch but that's all.

Waste time at your own risk

Warning: Spoilers
If you choose to go ahead and watch it, I encourage you to keep remote in hand and finger on the FF button. It will save you from wasting more time than necessary.

Lame dialog. Subpar acting, if based on a true story it must be a very loose connection.

If you are trying to escape, run like you mean it! Not with a ridiculous trot. Some scenes are so bad, you can't fast forward fast enough!

I find it hard to believe that anyone who is married to a person they don't trust, will let that person file their divorce papers and not ask for a copy of the decree! Seriously? I know they say reality is crazier than fiction, but, come on! I don't want to spend time searching if that part is actually true. It is too hard to believe it is. If someone finds it was real, let us know?

A Wilderness of Mirrors
lavatch26 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Apparently, people may be driven to do almost anything for money. At least that seems to be the case for a group of cutthroats who successfully kidnap Lauren, the recently married spouse of David, who has considerable wealth.

The ringleader of the plot is not revealed until the climactic scene, but a key contributor was David's former spouse Sadie. At least, he thinks she is his former spouse. In reality, Sadie never filed their divorce papers, and so he is technically still married to her.

The police in this film were unusually inept after Lauren was kidnapped. The kidnapper, Chet, was even identified in surveillance footage, yet the police failed to investigate his criminal record. Even one of the lead detectives on the case is on the payroll of the kidnappers.

Almost everyone seemed to be conspiring against poor David and Lauren, and many of the sequences seemed implausible. Even a seemingly nice private eye named Gina never actually does any investigating. The strength of the film was the close bonding of David and Lauren. Their commitment rang true even through the wilderness of mirrors in which they were trapped.

WTF?
haroot_azarian30 March 2023
This was no Georgia peach (pun intended). Seriously this was just a load of rubbish. Diabolical acting, even more diabilical dialogue, which was constantly monotonous and everyone was softly spoken as if they were at a wake or memorial, all conversations were just above whispers at best. The Sadie woman was just hilareous. Her facial expressions and psycho outbursts were just funny. I hope the director, producers, script writers all get charged with fraud.

I cannot for the love of me write any more comments and observations, so I am going to just go on rambling till the six-hundred characters quota is reached.
