Weak cast, weaker script

NAUGHTY NEIGHBORS is the least interesting or stimulating feature from Nica Noelle's Sweet Sinner outfit I've seen so far, as the auteur seems to have yawned her way through both the writing and casting of this one. Label has gone on to bigger and better videos, now with James Avalon doing most of the directing, so this lapse is forgivable.

Trust an Adult industry organization to single this one out for praise and nominate it for an award, just more proof how phony those accolades really are.

Like many a mainstream Hollywood high-concept picture, this story could be summed up not on the back of an envelope but in the space where it says "Please affix postage here". Jay Crew (aka cameraman Jake Jacobs) and pretty wife Shayla LaVeaux rent out a little place in their backyard to James Deen and his cute girlfriend Jandi Lin. The young couple inexplicably (except to keep the porn rolling) get off on seducing the older couple. That's the entire she- bang, with four sex scenes mixing and matching the two couples.

I waited in vain for something interesting to happen, or even the glimmer of a twist, but no such luck. One of the earliest videos from Sweet Sinner, it is so old that it omits the label's familiar femme voice reciting "Real Lovemaking...Real Orgasms" and even the logo. Instead the opening black and white credits replete with jazzy guitar playing almost sarcastically simulate the beginning of a Woody Allen film. A dubbed French track (for Canadian purposes) is also included on the DVD, a feature soon dropped.

One thing Nica included that I wish would become more standard is the listing in the end credits of the extras who appear in non-sex roles (it's always quite a challenge to figure them out from fleeting shots and no help): Sinn Sage, Zoey Stone and Alex MacKay, who appear briefly in a party scene.
