Based on a short story by Tim Pratt, Impossible Dreams is a wonderful short film about a movie buff who stumbles upon a video store stocked with DVDs of films that should have been. Wouldn't you jump at the chance to watch Star Wars prequels without Jar Jar Binks? You know you'd love to see Tom Selleck as Indiana Jones, if for no other reason than it would mean seeing Christopher Walken as Han Solo and everything ever made without Keanu Reeves.
The film is in Hebrew with English subtitles, and introduces us to two übercharming actors: Ori Yanev as kazoo-playing, bike-riding Daniel, and Ayala Zilberman as the quirkily hot video clerk from another dimension. Well shot, well acted, just well done in every conceivable way.
