A wealthy girl student is found at home, skull smashed at night. Neighbor Vincent Jacques heard boyfriend Guillaume, son of rich, arrogant attorney Ignace Roosevelt, scolding her several hours earlier. Fingerprints on a soda can lead to sleazy ex-con repeat sex offender Frank Mariman, who has no alibi. Only Van In doubts if Ignace, Frank's regular lawyer, sincerely considers his defense hopeless, and suspects him of framing his client to protect his party animal son. Rovert in turn considers Van In blinded and comes up with a third possibility.
