Not for everyone, but right for me.

This gets a high rating from me because I have loved tanks my entire life and thus I'm a sucker for this stuff.

I really like the combination of pretty high quality animation, archival footage, and recollections of soldiers who were there. While I love tanks from a design point of view, this series reinforces my view that I would never actually like to fight in a war, since it makes clear that individual human lives in war are pretty much just cannon fodder.

With the exception of the Golan Heights and the first Iraq War, the series concentrates on WWII, which is expected and appropriate, since nearly all of the great tank battles occurred then--where we are today, modern anti-tank weaponry has almost certainly closed the book on large-scale tank warfare forevermore, so this is probably all there will ever be.

The biggest warning I have about this series is that, while I personally found it captivating, other people who watched it with me, and who aren't into this sort of stuff, quite literally fell asleep.
