Drake Bell Says He Was ‘Completely Shocked’ by Ex-Girlfriend Stevie Ryan’s Suicide
Drake Bell says he was “completely shocked” when he learned that his ex-girlfriend and YouTuber Stevie Ryan had died.

“I was completely shocked by that,” the Drake & Josh star tells People. “It’s still surreal.”

Ryan’s death was ruled a suicide by hanging, according to the L.A. County Coroner’s Office. She died on July 1 at the age of 33.

Bell — who currently has a new song, “Run Away,” out now — also praised Ryan’s incredible talent to create candid celebrity impressions.

Drake Bell is heartbroken in the wake of his ex-girlfriend Stevie Ryan’s death. The 31-year-old actor took to Twitter on Monday to mourn Ryan after she was found dead in her apartment at age 33 after an apparent suicide.

“No no no!!!! I can Not Believe This Is Happening!!!!” Bell tweeted along with a photo of himself with Ryan. “Please wake me from this nightmare @StevieRyan I loved you and will forever miss you!”

Several hours later, Bell tweeted an article about Ryan’s death, writing, “This is too much. My heart is crushed. @StevieRyan I love you and miss you...”

Bell and Ryan dated from 2005 to 2006.

The Los Angeles Coroner’s Office confirmed to Et on Monday that Ryan was found dead in her home and an autopsy confirmed that the cause of death was a suicide by hanging.

YouTube star-turned-VH1 host Stevie Ryan died on Saturday. The 33-year-old committed suicide by hanging at her Los Angeles residence, according to the coroner’s office.

Ryan initially gained notoriety for her Little Loca YouTube series as well as her celebrity impersonations, People reports. She then transitioned to television as the star of Stevie TV, a VH1 sketch comedy series, and was subsequently the co-host of Brody Jenner’s E! talkshow Sex With Brody. Most recently, Ryan hosted a podcast about depression titled Mentally Ch(ill), where she revealed last Thursday that her grandfather had passed way.

Stevie Ryan has died at age 33, Et has learned.

The Los Angeles County Coroner's Office tells Et that the YouTube star, also known for her VH1 show, Stevie TV, was discovered in her home on on Saturday afternoon and pronounced dead at the scene. After being reported as a suicide, an autopsy was conducted and the final cause of death was ruled hanging.

Ryan, whose YouTube channel has garnered millions of views on her videos of characters and celebrity impressions, revealed on her podcast, Mentally Ch(ill) -- which billed itself as "a podcast about depression" -- last week that her grandfather had just died, also taking to to social media last week to grieve, writing, "My dream man who I will only see in my dreams. I'll meet you in Percebo, soon. I love you my Papa."
