I'm going to be real here you guys, I only watched this mess for Jensen Ackles, and I will watch season 3 for one reason only: Jensen Ackles.
Even without having seen the previous episodes, a good show should absolutely pull you in (or make you somewhat interested) if the writing is good and the characters are compelling. Big Sky... does not do that. The writing, at least in this season finale, seems... well, not quite "bad" but certainly not good!
Luckily, King Jensen is here. Anyone intelligent and with a keen eye can tell that Mr. Ackles is an exceptional guy and a fine actor. His on-screen presence immediately elevates whatever he's in. He reminds me of one of my favourite 80s actors (I won't say who, hehe!) who, just like Jensen, could elevate any film or show he found himself in just by virtue of being, well, himself. Yes, he is that good, at least in my opinion.
Time will tell whether this show will retain my interest, but I hope that the writers have had some time to get it together and deliver better quality this upcoming season. The decision to make Jensen Ackles a series regular was a smart one, and maybe some other casting choices for S3 will also help.
As for the review by "bobleb" berating Mr. Ackles, all I can say is that this person's judgement of anything concerning actors, cinema and/or television cannot be trusted and should therefore be taken with a grain of salt. This individual's rating of "Dial M for Murder" is ridiculous; even if they didn't enjoy that movie, no one of sound mind could possibly think that the writing, the characters and the plot were so bad so as to rate it 4/10. And who gives a 1 star rating to "Casino Royale"? This person has a distorted understanding of what makes good cinema/television.
