Storyline

In March, 2011, eight Compton High School students were selected to participate in a Free Throw competition. The prize? A $40,000 college scholarship. FREE THROW is a documentary film about these eight incredible students, their lives, hopes, dreams and obstacles. Created by Court Crandall (OLD SCHOOL, A LOBSTER TALE), FREE THROW is a story about the community of Compton -- the good and the bad. It's also a story about one line, on a basketball court, that brought that community together. Written by Court Crandall
