The Welsh star of Gavin & Stacey and Would I Lie to You? finally got the chance to prove himself, he is a great on screen comedian, presenter and impressionist, and he brought these elements and a bit more when he performed this stand up comedy show. Filmed at Norwich Theatre Royal, Rob Brydon performs this show, recorded as part of his 2009, mixing a little observational comedy, many impressions, talking to people in the audience and some singing. Jokes in the show include about a taxi driver, being in the theatre and on stage, Brydom moves people from cheaper seats at the back to two empty expensive seats at the front of the stage, hair loss, being a father, sex, Strictly Come Shagging – scoring sex, having a baby – water birth, false alarm (wind) and home birth, audiences, the middle class – holidaying in France, Welsh people – no Welsh superheroes, sporting heroes, silly introductions, and Brydon sings an improvised song with Rhys John playing guitar mentioning people he met in audience. His impressions throughout the show include Bruce Forsyth, Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli, Ronnie Corbett and Hugh Grant. His scripted material is pretty good, and he excels improvising as he interacts with audience members and sings, for his first live solo stand up this is a good start for Rob Brydon, it is possible he may do more. Good!
