Storyline

Betty prepares for a family visit. The doorbell rings. Surprisingly, eldest son Roger and self-absorbed wife Hayley arrive with reckless brother, Martin and Betty's charmless teenage grandson, Ryan. Everyone together! And it's not even Christmas! They observe the usual rituals. Tea is made, poured and drunk. Ryan looks for things he can acquire. The clock ticks and uncomfortable silence ensues. Betty waits for what is surely coming. Roger, egged on by the others, reluctantly draws breath and catalogues Betty's failing faculties. But Betty, with a mother's knowing eye, feels their overtures are not entirely altruistic and are more about her assets than her welfare. Right or wrong, one thing is for sure, Betty has her own plans and won't go down without a fight. Written by Anonymous
