- Linden and Holder return to the casino. While Holder tries to get information inside the casino, Linden explores the rest of the island. Linden learns that there are rooms where working girls can ply their trade. He also learns that there are new rooms under construction. The casino manager and the tribal police take a dim view of their investigation. Having been publicly branded a killer - and with the election only one week away - Gwen tells Darren Richmond that they need the Larsons to publicly exonerate him from anything to do with their daughter's death. Stan refuses but later has a change of heart. Stan learns about Terry's relationship with Jasper Ames and he throws her out of the house. Linden's personal problems continue when she's visited by two child protection officers who have received a complaint about Jack's welfare.—garykmcd
- Linden tells Holder that the picture on her fridge must have been a message. He asks about the reference Carlson made to her past, but she isn't talking. The person in the car watching them is the casino's head of security, Drays.
The next morning Linden wakes up to Holder making them breakfast. Jack seems to be enjoying himself. Linden says they aren't going to stay and Jack is upset. Linden gets a call that they've analyzed the Rosie voicemail and figured out the noise in the background was from a construction site. Linden tells Holder they need to look into what sort of work is being done at the casino and how Ames may be connected.
Gwen has hit the ground running to help Richmond's image. She says she has a connection at the DA's office and thinks she can get some lenient sentencing for Stan in exchange for him publically absolving Richmond. In the hallway she tells Jamie that her friend doesn't make those kinds of deals and they will be bluffing Stan with a lie.
One of Rosie's school friends brings the contents of Rosie's locker to Stan. The school cleared our her stuff and she thinks it's because of what the media has been saying about Rosie.
Linden and Jack check into another motel. She tells him if anything goes down he should go the bathroom and leave via the window. Holder has a connection at the casino, which is where the two are headed.
The plan is for Holder to spend time in the casinos talking to people. Because of all the butterflies she photographed and collected, Linden thinks Rosie may have felt trapped. He brings up Jack being worried about her not sleeping and they get into an argument.
Gwen and Jamie drop by to see Stan and ask about reading the statement. He says he wants to see something in writing. They say the press conference is that night and leave a card.
Linden goes for a walk in one of the wooded areas near the casino.
Holder tries to call Linden from the casino but his cell phone has no service. He asks a blackjack dealer about prostitutes. The guy directs him to a bartender.
Gwen and Jamie tells Richmond their bluff didn't work. He isn't thrilled she lied to Stan. They want to lead his press conference with his health. Richmond tells her he's going to tell the press "the truth," that he was with her in Tacoma the night of Rosie's death.
In the woods Linden runs into Jackson. She tells her she knows Rosie was there and inside the casino. Jackson threatens Linden that "anything can happen on this land."
Richmond pays Stan a visit in person. He says he had nothing to do with Rosie's death and also comes clean about his staff making promises they can't keep. Stan tells him he doesn't think anybody cares about Rosie anymore. Richmond says "Then make them."
A Native American prostitute finds Holder at the bar. He offers her extra to sleep with him in the construction site, but she passes. A male prostitute finds him and Holder gives him $100 to get him up there. Holder rides the elevator to the 9th floor, then takes the stairway to the 10th but can't get onto the floor.
Linden is rudely escorted to her car by Jackson's security detail.
On his way back down a cleaning woman says she hopes "Rosie got her backpack okay" and hands him a matchbook. It says "11am tomorrow." When the door opens Holder is staring at casino security.
Terry tells Stan about speaking to the police about Michael. He demands to know the connection to Rosie. She tells him they met through the Beau Soleil and that Rosie had been on the website. He screams at her to leave the house.
Linden comes home to find Child Welfare Protective Services waiting on her after receiving a anonymous call about Jack's living conditions.
Holder is placed in cuffs.
Protective Services questions both Jack and Linden. The officer tells her that she'll need to come downtown for a formal hearing. Jack asks to go to the bathroom, knowing that there is a window. Linden fakes a phone call and the two rendezvous outside in her car. They leave, but in the car he's furious with his mother.
At the press conference Gwen surprises Richmond by showing up at the last minute with Stan, who has agreed to read a statement. Stan takes the podium and complains about the way the media is using Rosie to sell papers. He chastises them about not doing what's right for Rosie. He says he has $12,000 and will give it to anyone who helps to find his daughters killer.
Holder is driven past where he expects to go.
Linden calls him, but gets no answer.
Holder is taken into the woods and beaten severely. Jackson uses his 'phone to call Linden, then holds it up so she can hear him get his butt kicked.
