I felt I should review this episode since the previous reviewer didn't seem to get it. Sure, Ames was involved in sabotaging the waterfront to suit his own purposes, but he flat-out refused to participate in the killing. So, his mistress, unaware of what she was actually doing, did the deed thinking she was securing their future together. I didn't see that one coming. Early on she had been calling & virtually stalking him, but the scenes in which she was crying I attributed to genuine remorse over the loss of her niece & her lover. Wow!
So Ames is culpable of burying Indian bones, but not of murder. The scene in which the whole family is enjoying that video was so touching, only to be followed by unbearable pain. The revelation that Rosie was killed by her own aunt!
In total, two men died, one was paralyzed, one was beaten within an inch of his life, and indirectly, a mob boss was killed, all as a function of the loss of that beautiful girl. Justice? I am not sure, but great storytelling, certainly.
