Another great episode from the series about people who look AFTER they leap
Life as a leaf in the wind -- wafted here or there based on the serendipity of fate.
Such is life for many of the protagonists of this beguiling series, and this episode is no exception.
Our narrator's girlfriend walks out on him with their daughter so he wants to take his mind off his losses. Next thing he knows he's lifting weights and taking steroids so he can get bigger quicker. And then he's taking trips to Mexico to get the steroids in bulk -- no need for a prescription South of the Border -- in exchange for counterfeit bills he prints himself.
With never a pause to worry about getting caught, or even a twinge of conscience about stealing from trusting people, he goes about his peripatetic lifestyle, dragging in a new girlfriend and corrupting a neighbor.
So of course eventually he gets caught. And soon he's addicted to shooting up drugs in the worst kind of Mexican prison. As is typical of this series, unanswered questions abound...exactly what must he trade to get all these drugs behind bars? We're left without a clue.
Despite its flaws, this series always manages to fascinate.
