A seemingly indestructible force will come to theaters and VOD this fall, as Magnet Releasing has acquired Officer Downe for Us distribution beginning November 18th:
Press Release: New York, NY (September 22, 2016) – Magnet Releasing, the genre arm of Magnolia Pictures, announced today that they have acquired U.S. rights to Officer Downe, the debut feature of M. Shawn Crahan (aka ‘Clown’), co-founder and visual architect of Grammy winning and multi-platinum band Slipknot. The film, starring Kim Coates (Sons Of Anarchy), will be released in theaters and On Demand November 18.
Adapted from the 2010 graphic novel by Joe Casey and Chris Burnham, Officer Downe concocts a hyper-real Los Angeles for the story of a savage La policeman who is repeatedly resurrected and returned to active duty via dark science technology. When a rookie officer named Gable is recruited as back up, he discovers there's much more to the titular super-cop than a mindless »

Road Games Blu-ray / DVD: "After a disastrous summer trip, Jack (Andrew Simpson, Rebellion) finds himself hitchhiking through the sun-drenched rural French countryside with nothing but his British passport. Unaware of dangers that are plaguing the roads, he tries without much success to get home. Along the way, he partners with another hitchhiker, a beautiful French girl, Véronique (Joséphine de La Baume, Kiss of the Damned). But when they accept a ride from a local oddball (Frédéric Pierrot, The Returned), the pair find themselves thrown in a deadly game of cat and mouse in which nothing is what it seems. Bursting with nonstop twists and turns and an undercurrent of Hitchcockian malice, this riveting psychological thriller is a hell of a ride. »

Damien Bonnard, who stars in Cannes competition film “Staying Vertical” and appears next in Christopher Nolan’s “Dunkirk,” and Lindsay Burdge (“The Invitation”) have signed on to co-star in Nathan Silver’s “Thirst Street.”
The film, written and produced by Silver and Chris Wells, is scheduled to shoot in Paris this summer. A darkly funny neurotic thriller “Thirst Street” tells the twisted story of Gina, an American flight attendant who falls in with a Parisian bartender on a layover only to find herself tangled in a web of deception, delusion and unrequited l’amour fou.
The film will also feature Roxane Mesquida (“Kiss of the Damned”), Alice de Lencquesaing (“Summer Hours”), Lola Bessis (“Swim Little Fish Swim”) and Silver’s mother, Cindy Silver, who has appeared in most of Silver’s films to date. Sean Price Williams is set to lens the pic.

Hitchin’ a Ride: Pastoll’s Debut an Assortment of Tropes
No, it’s not a remake of the 1981 Richard Franklin thriller starring Stacy Keach and Jamie Lee Curtis, but Abner Pastoll’s debut borrows the title, along with elements from a number of other, far better narratives for Road Games. Curiously, for most of the running time, his characters are actually not even on the road, but this is only one of several aggravating details in a film laboring to conjure thrills solely through the use of withholding pertinent information from the audience for an improbable reveal. Though it has all the right elements to convey technical proficiency, this is a watered down genre treatment which does disservice to notable cast members, which includes amongst its talent the strange plumage of 80s cult star Barbara Crampton.
