A damn good episode

Mild spoilers for the previous episodes.

The Serpentine search for the third Fang Blade. Kai is desperate to find his true potential. Lord Garmadon become the Ninjas' room mate, whilst trying to save Lloyd.

I am so grateful for this episode. Finally, we return to the story line of Lloyd, held prisoner by the Serpentine, a story that was sort of ignored for a few episodes, which was heavily disheartening. Seeing that they were thankfully coming back to this, especially with Garmadon now helping, and seeing the softer, good side of him, really warmed my heart. Although not as good as the ninth episode of the series, showing Cole and his Father reuniting, this was a real treat.

There's something about this episode that I just can't put my finger on, that really made me smile and feel warm. Maybe it was how Garmadon chose to be good for a while, to save his son, and showing that evil isn't always… evil. Maybe it was seeing Kai trying so hard, only to realise something very simple in the end. These are two lessons that I think are quite important, especially for younger children.

One – the evil, or bad, way, isn't always the right one, especially in certain situations. Two – no matter how hard you work towards one specific goal, that way might not always be the right way.

These are especially important lessons for children to learn, and I think it was well done by the director to include both of these in the same episode. Both lessons linked together in the same story line, and I hope to see a recurrence of Garmadon working on the good side more than the bad.

The humour in this episode, especially when showing Garmadon being the Ninjas' roommate, was really good. I find it quite hilarious, and did have a good chuckle throughout the episode, before being left on the edge of my seat in the final showdown of the episode.

A really, really well done, and well rounded episode, with important lessons, is always something I appreciate in a children's show.
