‘Friday Night Lights’ Star Zach Gilford & Kiele Sanchez Are Married

30 December 2012 9:30 AM, PST | HollywoodLife | See recent HollywoodLife news »

Congratulations! Zach is officially off the market, as he married Kiele on Saturday Dec. 29 in Napa Valley!

Friday Night Lights star Zach Gilford, 30, wed Glades star Kiele Sanchez, 36, on Dec. 29!

The couple met in early 2010 while they were costarring in the ABC pilot The Matadors, however, it was never picked up to series.

“She is the most amazing woman in the world,” Zach told Us Weekly of Kiele during the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour in 2012.

In July, Zach revealed to E! News that the couple’s wedding plans were “magical.”

“We set a date,” he said. “We found a magical, magical place to get married and I’m excited. It is going to be cool.”

This is Zach’s first marriage and the second for Kiele, who is divorced from writer and film director Zach Helm.

Zach is best known for playing quarterback Matt Saracen on NBC’s Friday Night Lights. »

It looks like it may be gone from theaters.  But don't fret, if you were interested in seeing it, because it'll be released on home video in early February. So you don't have very long to wait. Cinedigm and New Video acquired domestic (USA) distribution rights to In Our Nature, which premiered this year at the SXSW Film Festival, earlier this year.  Gabrielle Union co-stars in this indie dramedy, alongside Jena MaloneZach Gilford and John Slattery, »

Review: In Our Nature

13 December 2012 11:30 AM, PST | Slackerwood | See recent Slackerwood news »

What's the nature of In Our Nature? Smart but rather dull, like a sophisticated person who needs better stories to tell.

I had hoped the producers of Meek's Cutoff and Wendy and Lucy -- two of my favorite quiet little movies -- would deliver another entertaining and keenly observant film with In Our Nature. But while Vincent Savino and Anish Savjani's new film says some compelling things about human relationships, it suffers from a plodding pace and only mildly interesting narrative.

In Our Nature is set entirely in an upstate New York weekend home, where young Brooklynites Seth (Zach Gilford) and Andie (Jena Malone) hope to spend a romantic weekend. Shortly after they arrive, Seth's long-estranged father, Gil (John Slattery), who owns the house, shows up unexpectedly with his much-younger girlfriend, Vicky (Gabrielle Union). Tempers flare immediately, as Seth and Gil blame each other for the scheduling mix-up.

Win Tickets to See 'In Our Nature' Next Week

13 December 2012 7:30 AM, PST | Slackerwood | See recent Slackerwood news »

The indie drama In Our Nature, which premiered at SXSW in March, returns to Austin on Friday for a theatrical run. The movie stars Jena Malone, Gabrielle Union, Zach Gilford and John Slattery.

Look for Don's review this afternoon -- among other things, he's says it's "an astute film with much to say about family dynamics." It's about a father and son spending a weekend with their respective partners at a vacation home in upstate New York.

We have two pairs of tickets to give away to see In Our Nature at Regal Arbor 8. You can use these tickets to attend any screening of the movie at the Arbor from Monday 12/17 through Thursday 12/20. Tickets must be redeemed at the box office and seating is subject to availability.

If you can't wait for Monday and want to see the movie this weekend, I recommend going to the 7:30 pm screenings on »

Weinberg Reviews In Our Nature, a Low-Key Character Film That Rings True

8 December 2012 5:22 AM, PST | Screen Anarchy | See recent Screen Anarchy news »

Sometimes you're just in the mood for a low-budget, four-character indie film in which a few flawed but very relatable folks deal with their low-key stresses, concerns, and issues in a way that, at the very least, rings true and, in the best cases, offers a viewer something that feels personal and familiar. The low-key but smoothly accessible In Our Nature is definitely one of those films. First-time writer/director Brian Savelson is interested in little more than presenting a story about a strained relationship between a father and his grown son, and how it begins to heal with some integral help from two very smart women. Seth is a popular musician who brings his longtime girlfriend to the rarely-used family cabin. Their fun is interrupted »

Q&A: Zach Gilford on 'Nature,' Family and 'Friday Night Lights'

7 December 2012 7:00 AM, PST | NextMovie | See recent NextMovie news »

More likely than not, you know Zach Gilford best as Matt Saracen from "Friday Night Lights."

But, when he's not wearing a football uniform – or hospital scrubs, as the case has been on his subsequent television shows, "Off the Map" and this season's "Mob Doctor" – you might just find him in the woods. The 30-year-old actor considers himself an outdoorsman, spending his free time hiking, camping and the like, which worked out perfectly for his latest foray onto the big screen, "In Our Nature."

The movie follows Gilford's Seth and his girlfriend Andie (Jena Malone) as they head to Seth's "cabin" in upstate New York. Little do they know that Seth's somewhat estranged father ("Mad Men"'s John Slattery) and his city mouse girlfriend (Gabrielle Union) have similar plans. Needless to say, significant awkwardness ensues.

Thankfully, Gilford was able to flex some of those outdoor muscles in the film and »

John Slattery and Zach Gilford on In Our Nature, Meeting Dwyane Wade, and Zach’s Potential Mad Men Cameo

7 December 2012 6:15 AM, PST | Vulture | See recent Vulture news »

We once thought only in our dreams would Roger Sterling play father to Matt Saracen. But In Our Nature is as close as we'll get for now. The film, which opens today in New York and Austin, stars John Slattery and Zach Gilford as an estranged father and son who, unbeknownst to each other, both head up to the family cabin with their respective girlfriends at the same time. Slattery's character Gil and Vicky (Gabrielle Union) show up as Gilford's Seth and Andie (played by Jena Malone) are about to enjoy some cabin coitus, and that's only the beginning of the awkwardness. We caught up with the guys recently and learned about how they passed the time together in the woods for a month during filming (Union's boyfriend Dwyane Wade visited and lost to Gilford in Words With Friends) and whether we'll ever see the two reunite on Mad Men. »

New to Theatres This Weekend: Playing for Keeps, Lay the Favorite, Hyde Park on Hudson

7 December 2012 6:04 AM, PST | FilmJunk | See recent FilmJunk news »

We've hit an early December lull at multiplexes this weekend as we prepare for the onslaught of big holiday blockbusters that will soon be here. The only major release in theatres this week is the Gerard Butler rom-com Playing for Keeps, although End of Watch is also returning to a significant number of theatres for an awards season run. Does it really have a shot at an Oscar? It seems like a bit of a stretch to me. In select theatres, look for Bill Murray playing Fdr in Hyde Park on Hudson, which has been getting pretty disappointing reviews, along with Lay the Favorite starring Bruce Willis and Deadfall starring Eric Bana. If that's not enough, we've also got a South Korean Twilight rip-off called A Werewolf Boy. What will you be watching this weekend? Review: 'In Our Nature' An Exploration Of Discord & Dysfunction Backed By Strong Performances

7 December 2012 5:00 AM, PST | The Playlist | See recent The Playlist news »

If it weren’t for dysfunctional relationships, independent films might never have any stories to tell. “In Our Nature” is the latest in a long line of small-scale films about children who don’t get along with their parents, and the terms both come to in the process of a shared experience that throws them together – in predictably unwitting fashion, of course. But solid performances from the central quartet of actors, including Zack Gilford, Jena Malone, John Slattery and Gabrielle Union elevate Brian Savelson’s debut as a writer and director despite its familiarity as not just a story but almost an entire cinematic subgenre. Gilford (“Friday Night Lights”) and Malone (“Sucker Punch”) play Seth and Andie, a young couple from Brooklyn that drives up in the woods for a getaway in his family’s lake house. Shortly after they arrive, Seth’s dad Gil (Slattery) shows up with his girlfriend Vicky (Union) in tow, »

Out This Week: 10 Reviews of New Indie Releases From 'Cheerful Weather at the Wedding' to 'Waiting for Lightning'

This weekly column is intended to provide reviews of nearly every new release, including films on VOD (and in certain cases some studio releases). Specifics release dates and locations follow each review. Then "Cheerful Weather For The Wedding" was probably made for you -- especially because, as with the show, Elizabeth McGovern remains the matriarch. Gallery: 'Friday Night Lights' Stars Ready For Their Close-Ups

If you're like us, you love the holiday season, but kinda wish you could spend it in Dillon, Texas, with the Taylor family.

Actually, this year, you almost can. Coach himself, Kyle Chandler, stars in "Argo" and "Zero Dark Thirty," while Mrs. Coach Connie Britton graces the big screen in "The Fitzgerald Family Christmas." As for the young-uns, you've probably already caught Tyra Collette (Adrianne Palicki) in theaters in "Red Dawn" and might want to make a date to see Matt Saracen (Zach Gilford) in "In Our Nature" this month.

In fact, why wait to get a good look at them? We figured it was time to pay homage to the (incredibly attractive) cast of "Friday Night Lights" as they're about to see their names in lights for real. And, thus, we were inspired to create this gallery of the "Friday Night Lights" gang in movies, past, present and future. »

Forces of Nurture: Savelson’s Debut an Understated Ensemble of Well Tread Angst

For his feature film debut, Brian Savelson has acquired an impressive four person ensemble that examines everything from parent and child relationships, round two families, and even a nod to Chekov with some estate squabbles. There’s a definite sense, that only deepens as In Our Nature reaches its last lap, that this is familiar territory, a quartet of characters constantly undermining or over compensating in their surroundings as they navigate the miasma of the dysfunctional family discourse. While this doesn’t detract from Savelson’s well-written scenario, per se, there are several moments where we get lost in really caring how or why any of these people will ever resolve their personal issues.

Leaving behind Brooklyn for the weekend, aspiring chef Seth (Zach Gilford) takes longtime girlfriend Andie (Jena Malone) to his father’s cabin, which »

Watch an Exclusive Clip From In Our Nature With John Slattery and Jena Malone

4 December 2012 7:25 AM, PST | Vulture | See recent Vulture news »

It's fun when actors from favorite TV shows intermingle in movies. Remember how exciting it was to see both Walter White and Coach Taylor in Argo? In In Our Nature, which comes out this weekend in New York and Austin, Roger Sterling (John Slattery) plays the dad of Matt Saracen (Zach Gilford). (Hopefully this dad's face remains intact.) The film revolves around a wild weekend in which both the estranged father and son bring their respective girlfriends to their vacation home. In this clip, that old dog Sterling shares an expectedly too-flirtatious moment with Saracen's girlfriend (played by Jena Malone) over a marijuana cigarette. 'Mad Men's John Slattery on the term 'silver fox' and his new indie 'In Our Nature' -- Exclusive Clip

30 November 2012 2:40 PM, PST | EW - Inside Movies | See recent EW.com - Inside Movies news »

As Mad Men’s silver-haired Roger Sterling, John Slattery is debonair, drunken, sexy, competitive, and sentimental. He’s also, at times, a complete goof.

In writer/director Brian Savelson’s feature debut, In Our Nature, out in theaters Dec. 7, Slattery plays Gil, the estranged dad of Seth, a bearded hipster played by Zach Gilford (Friday Night Lights). When Seth brings his girlfriend, Andie, played by Jena Malone (Pride & Prejudice), to his family’s upstate New York retreat for a romantic getaway weekend, Gil shows up to the house as well — with his new, younger girlfriend Vicky, played by Gabrielle Union. »

A warning to Friday Night Lights fans: the clean shaven Zach Gilford you came to know and love as quarterback of the Dillon Panthers will look just a little bit different when you see him next.
