Every one is gonna miss Charlie Sheen...., 20 September 2011
5/10
Author: Tarun Bhatia from India

Well, now the show is not going to entertain you like before, and everybody knows the reason why. Ashton Kutcher is good but you cannot compare him with Charlie at least for this particular role.

The womanizer is now gone and left us with great memories to remember.

This episode can not be compared with earlier episodes as the bad-boy, alcoholic and careless Charlie Harper is missing. Jon Cryer is also a great actor but his chemistry with Charlie Sheen was amazing and it might take some time for Ashton to fit in his role and the sitcom.

For this particular episode i can only rate it 5/10. Hope this will get better in future and i wish that Charlie could come back.

Why were Courtney and Chelsea that negative?, 21 September 2011
6/10
Author: maarten_wieringa7 from Netherlands

I don't understand the first 4 minutes. You see Chelsea and Courtney were talking very negative about Charlie. Why? There relationship with him was good. They supposed to cry or be just a little sad. Bad writing and it doesn't fit at all. The rest of the episode was decent but it was just not the same. Not bad but not that funny at all. The cameo with Dharma and Greg was funny and it was fun to see the postmen who was also from Dharma and Greg. Ashton's character: i don't know. He was boring in this episode. Next episode Rose is coming back to Malibu and she's gonna live together with her ex boyfriend Gordon. I hope it's gonna be a better episode. Damn, i miss Charlie.

A disappointing new start, 21 September 2011
4/10
Author: goshrocks from Argentina

The episode showed clearly how Alan struggled to save the show, but ultimately the newcomer sadly portrays a bland mix between Jake and Charlie. The show is now Alan-centric, but lacking Sheen to balance and many times outsmart the good old Alan. The show without Charlie Sheen, dropped ultimately to cheap shots, like the size of Kuthcher's manhood. The show wasn't Charlie Sheen, but rather the relationship crafted by years of good acting between Bertha, his brother, little(no more) Jake, and his mother. Ashton will never replace Charlie, and the type of character does not live up to the expectations. A big part of the show was seeing Alan being outsmarted by a simpler yet brighter Sheen. I see no line for this type of jokes anymore.I hope they reconsider Sheen as a part of the show and hopefully get him back...

Charlie is timeless., 20 September 2011
1/10

I must say that when seeing this episode, i now realize that Charlie Sheen is timeless. Ashton is a very good actor but can not be compared to Charlie and Charlie's role in two and a half men.

The funeral scene is just absurd and pathetic. It should be an emotional scene since hes been on the show for 8 seasons, and the comedy is just not comedy. The way that Alan, his mother and the girls acted is not justifying the time Charlie spent on this show.

There is no comedy left. And the try of comedy is seen pathetic

I will never ever watch another 2 and a half men show again. Thank you Chuck Lorre for that.

Sheen will be back by Christmas, 20 September 2011

Kutcher's character is a dead end. He plays a mentally challenged, unkempt loser...but it's okay because he's a billionaire and he's well endowed. He is irresistible to women, although he speaks like an escaped mental patient. How many episodes can we endure where he walks around naked and receives compliments on the size of his penis? The actor who plays John Cryer's son makes $250,000 per episode. Why? Last night, his character appeared in two scenes, had no lines, and farted twice while sitting next to his grandmother. He earned $125,000 per fart. The funeral was lame. If the dozens of women present hated Charlie so much, why did they bother to show up? The part where the mother asks for a little compassion and then proceeds to try to sell his house all in the same breath was not funny. The only funny moment in the episode was the Dharma and Greg routine. The closed coffin at the funeral provides a safety valve. Sheen will be back in the role by Christmas, as the ratings will have plunged by then.

I wish I could give this a lower rating, 21 September 2011

The writers of this show has reached an all time low, comparing Charlie's death to a balloon filled with meat exploding from the impact with a train.

Also Ashton Kutcher(Walden Schmidt)is the exact opposite of Charlie Harper.

The only characters that were funny was as usual was Allan, and Evelyn but in my opinion killing off everybody's favorite character was a bad move.

I loved this show before this episode which is a big disappointment.

I would rather watch CNN or Fox News than watching this stupid show ever again.

Bad start. Good ending., 20 September 2011

I am disappointed in how they did the transmission of removing sheen. The funeral seemed forced and many of the female characters there didn't hate Charlie the way they did at the funeral, which is strange seeing as most people wouldn't be more angry with someone at their funeral. Evelyn's Line was expected although it wasn't either well preformed nor funny.

The closed coffin makes it easy for the writes to bring Sheen back into the series with an excuse like that he faked his own death to get rid of a gambling debt open. Though I'm afraid it was because they couldn't get Sheen to play in the episode.

As for Kutcher's appearance i am positively impressed. It played out better than i had expected. Jake on the other hand is an increasingly disappointing character and like most childhood actors he have lost what made him special in the earlier seasons.

After seeing the opening i was tempted to vote 1/10, but the rest of the episode was much better so my vote is 6/10

I loved Charlie Sheen but I like Kutcher as well. Beside the bad taste of that stupid funeral and the stupid firing of Sheen for out of the work reasons, the show has changed and it will be another show. Kutcher is nice and enough good but he can't replace Sheen in this show. Maybe this show will be anyway watchable but it is another show. Alan does not work anymore and he is the real new embarrassing problem. His acting is slow and no fake, off scene, laughing can save him. More, the half man is no more half, at least 4/5 so let's change the title too. Like "The Billionaire & the Loser" Season 1. ah ah! (I put my fake laughs too).

The problem is that now is somehow funny when Ashton is on the scene (by the way less than Sheen) but the main character now is Alan and, unbelievable, he is no more funny. Before I was thinking that John Cryer is a great actor but today I understood that he is very weak and without Sheen he is lost. Watching Charlie's house without Charlie is sad and the show, which was one of the best and funniest ever, now is a normal average comedy which needs a lot of fake, off scene, recorded laughs to stand up. This show is dead and it would be right to change the house and the title, trying to build a new show and not this hybrid mess. The 1st episode is supported by a special guest John Stamos and showing Kutcher naked but in the future? Lorre! You have to accept that you made a big mistake firing Sheen and you killed your own show for close mind reasons. I always thought you are a genius but obviously even geniuses can make enormous mistakes.More I have read a lots of comments anywhere and 90% of people want Sheen back. Sheen is the real winner again and even if he seems to me ridicule when he screams that he is a WINNER, I have to accept that he is right. Before 2&HM I did not like C.S. but he made this comedy great and I changed mind. I don't care for his style of private life and Lorre surprised me when he took out the mask showing that he is a bigot, close mind person. I was his fun, also for Big Bang Theory, but that show too is going down and I understand that he is funny only because Jim Parsons (Sheldon) is great. Let's fire him too and kill also this other show. Ah ah (going on putting fake laughs).

I really was not against Kutcher coming on board... always liked him ever since That 70's Show, and I'm still willing to give it a chance on future episodes, but as far this episode goes, I think it's the only TnH Men episode ever to not get a laugh out of me. This is not Ashton's fault at all, but it is the writer's, who took this episode as their mission to get back at Mr. Sheen, apparently forgetting that they were touching one of TV's favorite characters, hence a little bit of dignity on his farewell would've been much appreciated and more welcomed. -SPOILER- Charlie died when falling off a subway platform... when in the history of TnH Men has Charlie Harper ever been on a subway or bus? He drives a Mercedez and when he was too wasted to drive, he took a taxi (usually driven by a Hindi driver that he considers his friend! haha)... so what's up with that plot hole???!!!!! RIP Mr. Harper, you deserved a better farewell.

Bad start, hope things change in next episodes, 26 September 2011

Show creator Chuck Lorre is definitely taking revenge on Charlie Sheen with such a lame funeral for his character Charlie Harper. Jon Cryer is a terrific actor but had better on screen chemistry with Sheen than Ashton. The writers should have given Jake a few lines rather than the same old fart n food jokes. And as per Season6 Ep11, Berta inherits Charlie's Malibu beach house as per his will (The Devil's Lube). But what now? Ashton was cool as usual. But everyone who've seen the show for last 8 years might have predicted the ashes were to be spilled somehow. Also Ashton hooking up with the 2 girls from the bar, over Alen was also predictable. And reg. the nude show by Ashton, its just for the ratings! Its sad to see the authors had to write something like that to get more ratings for Two and a Half Men! Even most punchlines were also predictable, like "Good work raising him". I would give 4 starts for Ashton. Chuck Lorre and his writers need to be a little more creative - and funny. I'd prefer re-runs till Season8 rather than watching this season if the trend continues.
