When Kacey Simon has to get dorky glasses and braces, she's kicked out of her posse immediately. Determined not to let it crush her, she becomes the lead singer of a band, Gravity 5, and is on a mission to take them to the top.
When Justin Cole, the most popular guy in school, hands out invitations for the biggest party of the year, Kacey stands up for Gravity 5 to be invited too. But now, she feels pressure to make sure they fit in with the cool kids.
The Brewster High School's art show is around the corner so Zander decides to make an entry (a statue of Kacey) to impress his crush. When she doesn't like the final product, she decides to give it a "Kacey Simon Makeover", breaking its nose while trying to fix it. She tries to solve the problem by mimicking the statue but fails to do so. Meanwhile, Stevie tries to prove that her pet hamsters are smarter than Kevin and Nelson.
After The Perfs win the Class President elections four years in a row, Kacey and Kevin both decide to run, but in separate campaigns. To lure in the votes, Kacey tells the whole student body that she will get Big Time Rush to perform at their school if she wins.
Kacey has a crush on a senior boy. Just as she's about to get a date with him, Molly pulls a prank, leaving Kacey humiliated. Gravity 5 pulls a revenge prank, but it backfires, leaving Kacey and Zander's hands glued together.
Kacey and Nelson have the same birthday, so Kacey decides to share her birthday party with him. But in planning the party, Kacey ignores Nelson's input, leaving him feeling hurt, and her feeling like a bad friend.
Kacey gets a part-time job at Danny Mangos to pay her mom back for a huge credit card bill. However, she accidentally gives away too many smoothies, getting herself and Stevie fired. Meanwhile, Kevin and Nelson compete to get more customers at their jobs. Also, Zander tries to play his ukulele in the mall without getting into trouble.
Halloween has arrived and Kacey is torn between going trick-or-treating with Gravity 5 or going to a Perf party. After dozing off, Kacey ends up in a dream where the Perfs have turned into vampires and Gravity 5 transforms into werewolves. The two groups begin to compete for Kacey's allegiance and now she must choose which identity is hers.
When every kid in school is required to join a sports team, Kacey reluctantly joins Stevie's basketball team, only to discover she's pretty good. But Kacey's drive to win puts their friendship to the test!

Masquerading as employees, Gravity 5 sneaks into a concert and runs into Cee Lo, who decides he wants Kacey to tour with him. Gravity 5 is happy for her, but the Battle of the Bands is approaching and now they have no singer.
Stevie is too shy to ask her crush to the school dance so Kacey asks him for her through a singing telegram and gets an unexpected response. Zander, Kevin and Nelson are all assigned telegrams that wildly backfire.
Kacey wants Gravity 5 to have their own photo in the yearbook, but only official clubs get their own page. When Kacey tries to bend the rules, it ruins their yearbook photo and threatens embarrassment for the band.
Gravity 5 and the Perfs team up to make an audition tape for the TV show "High School Sensation." The whole group is crushed when Kevin forgets to send their tape, so he tracks down the show's host to fix his mistake.
Kacey is not happy that the Perfs' volunteer project is getting more attention than Gravity 5's project, so she uses a foot injury to get special attention. When her friends find out, they plot revenge.
On a school camping trip, Gravity 5 and the Perfs have to rough it like prisoners to get a passing grade. Out in the wild, it's not Kacey or Molly but Grace who has the skills to lead, and her leadership skills get tested.
Kacey must design a clothing line in order to win an internship with a famous designer. When her designs aren't as fabulous as she'd hoped, Kacey has to deal with not being great at something for the first time.
Kacey and Molly get ultra-competitive about the fashion they wear to school, leading the principal to enact a strict uniform policy, which everyone hates. The two rivals must then work together to reverse the policy.
