MPAA Rated R for violence, some sexual content, language and drug use

Sex & Nudity

  • A husband and wife are in bed together. They appear to be naked under the covers. They change positions and kiss, adjusting the covers which reveal skin, but no outright nudity. the edges of the woman's breasts can be seen and parts of both of their upper bodies. It is intimated that they are about to have sex when the scene cuts.
  • The lead actress spends a lot of time in her underwear but no nudity shown.
  • A married couple are shown engaging in mild s and m foreplay, the woman is dressed in a dominatrix suit. The man's bare buttocks are briefly shown.
  • A woman in a doorway, is shown bending over, a man at the door is ogling her from behind and making air pelvic thrusting motions at her.
  • Some sexual dialogue, as a married woman tells her husband, that she let another man perform oral sex on her and that she also performed oral sex on him. The husband talks about having a sex tape, of losing his virginity.
  • References to a married man having a homosexual relationship with an intern, a photo is briefly shown of two men engaged in kinky S&M, no nudity.
  • A woman is seen in a shower but the camera stays above her nipples.

Violence & Gore

  • Several scenes of people injuring themselves repeatedly, with curling irons, hammers, etc...
  • A married couple lightly punch each other.
  • A man gets beaten up in a bar fight. The result is a very large black eye, and bloody nose.
  • A man is beaten up a couple of times by two other men.
  • A woman tries to run a homeless guy down with her car.
  • A man threatens to saw another man's penis off.
  • Four people fatally shoot each other in a Mexican stand-off.
  • A few other mild fights, nothing particularly brutal. The violence in this film overall is milder than the majority of PG13 films.


  • Occasional coarse language, "fuck" is said maybe two or three times. Some ribald sexual dialogue.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A woman looks in a fogged-up mirror and sees a frightening distorted reflection of herself.
  • A home invasion scene uses a sudden jump-scare technique to intensify the impact of the situation.
