Who can say no to cake? Apparently not Jennifer Aniston. Following the massive success of her R-rated comedy We're The Millers, Aniston has signed on to headline and executive produce an indie dramedy called Cake. And she's bringing a bunch of friends on board for the ride. What began as a Black List script with buzz is now an indie production with a dazzling ensemble. The Wrap reports Sam Worthington, Anna Kendrick, Chris Messina, Felicity Huffman (Desperate Housewives), William H. This week it finally happened, Lovefilm is no more, it has now been completely consumed by its Amazon overlords and is now known as Amazon Prime and something that operates totally through your Amazon account should you have one.

At first this was a baffling experience, there was rumours of a lot more new content being added and when you logged into the Ios app for Lovefilm/Amazon post switchover, suddenly you were faced with A Lot of new content, things like Aliens, Congo, Cujo, Invaders from Mars and lots of HBO shows including Eastbound and Down, Enlightened and the Sopranos as well as Community in the ‘Recently Added’ section.

Of course this was too good to be true and you could add these to your watchlist but then not actually watch them. So when things calmed down and you logged back in, these titles it turned out were part »

This year’s Saturn Award nominations have been announced and include a number of horror movie and TV releases, such as The Conjuring and The Walking Dead:

“Los Angeles – February, 2014 – Alfonso Cuaron’s Gravity and Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug both received 8 nominations as the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films today announced nominations for the 40th Annual Saturn Awards, which will be presented in June.

Alfonso Cuaron’s “Gravity” and Peter Jackson’s “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug” each received eight nominations as the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films announced the nominations for the 40th Annual Saturn Awards.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” was not far behind with seven noms, including best science-fiction film. “Iron Man 3,” “Pacific Rim,” “Star Trek into Darkness” and “Thor: The Dark World” got five nominations apiece.

The Saturns are known for their eccentric fields of nominees. The theme of the year (if it can ever be boiled down to just one thing) is that "Greed is no longer Good, it is complicated." Perhaps this is just fall out from filmmaking projects that likely were conceived at about the low-point of the world economic meltdown of 2008-2009. Nevertheless, the nefarious means of acquiring wealth and fame in pursuit of becoming the 1% was featured in nearly a dozen films where those willing to go through hell to 'get theirs' was examined in various modes:  The Counselor, American Hustle, The Bling Ring, The Wolf of Wall St., Spring Breakers, Pain and Gain, and to a lesser extent, The Great Gatsby, Elysium and The Brass Teapot.  As per usual, most of the good movies...
