A beautiful small film about the search for meaning
correoparatareasytrabajos3 December 2019
Nelson is a member of a military band. He's depicted as a simple man that wanders through an ordinary life playing the trumpet and keeping up with his duties.

After his wife disappears (leaving him completely alone in the house they shared), he decides to set himself up for a new goal instead of losing himself to despair. That's the moment when he decides to register to a musical contest, which is a breaking point in the film where the image of a more intimal, deeper side to our character starts sliding under the door.

We are revealed that during his time as an air force band member, Nelson worked on compositions with music and lyrics written by himself. What's most endearing about the character are the small glimpses of happiness that subtly sparkle in his face whenever he mentions his song.

The idea of his song potentially being played in radio stations across all of Uruguay and the fantasy of winning the contest and recording an album are the fuel that keeps him moving forward after his loss. He faces some complications here and there reaching for his new ambition until things eventually turn out and the film ends.

The bleak atmosphere and the periods of silence make a good work painting the portrait of a man that's meeting face to face with lonelines after being abandoned by his significant other.

Waste of potential

First of all this Uruguayan film isn't a comedy, is simple Drama. Nelson, an air force's trumpetist struggles between his dream of record an album, and his military duties in the official band. Although the low budget, and the bad acting of part of the cast, is a good movie, but the potential of a good plot, vanish through the film, making it poor resulting in a rough end.
