When you cook salmon, some sea lice can still be on the fish. At aquatic factory farms, sea lice tend to attach to captive fish, to gorge on their skin, mucus and blood. In other words, they basically eat the fish alive. This can be threatening to the human health as well. And yet, Scottish salmon tops the list of fish coming from fish farms to supermarket shelves in the UK. Even so, both the British government and the fish producers refuse to act meaningfully.
