Caramel week in the tent. But who met a sticky end?

9.19pm BST

Well there we go. The thoroughly well-deserved Star Bakersanship award goes to Kate, while, in a surprise to no one, Tom’s back on the sleeper to Edinburgh. Is he from Edinburgh? Who cares. He’s from somewhere, and he’s back there now. Thanks to all of you for the Btl bantz, armchair psychology and comments subsequently removed by a moderator.

I’m off to down some syrup to cut through all this caramel. Or maybe I’ll borrow some of Prue’s lemons; she looks like she’s always got a few on the go. Come say hello on twitter, facebook or Instagram. Or just wiretap my house, and log a transcript of all my calls. That’s the sort of world we voluntarily live in now, isn’t it.

Diverse cast of Kaalakaandi makes things for director Akshat Verma very interesting!

27 July 2017 1:21 AM, PDT | Bollyspice | See recent Bollyspice news »

Having done a phenomenal job on the screenplay of Delhi Belly, Akshat Verma is gearing up for the release of his upcoming directorial venture Kaalakaandi.

The film comprises of an extremely talented bunch of actors including Saif Ali Khan, Kunaal Roy Kapur, Vijay Raaz, Deepak Dobriyal, Akshay Oberoi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Isha Talwar, Shenaz Treasury, Amyra Dastur and Neil Bhoopalam in a special appearance.

Working with an ensemble cast could be challenging, but Akshat did it with ease. In fact he had a great time bonding with all of them. “The most interesting thing about working with an ensemble cast is that every day is unpredictable because all these actors have a different way of working, a different way of approaching their scenes and also a different pace to how they come at it.”

“It serves to keep me on my toes in terms of how to configure my direction style to what they would bring. »

Cinestaan Boards Saif Ali Khan Vehicle ‘Kaalakaandi’

23 June 2017 1:56 AM, PDT | Variety - Film News | See recent Variety - Film News news »

India and U.K. based Cinestaan Film Company has boarded “Kaalakaandi,” a co-production with India’s Flying Unicorn Entertainment that Cinestaan will release on September 8. The film marks the directing debut of Akshat Verma, who wrote Aamir Khan Productions’ 2011 hit “Delhi Belly.”

The “Kaalakaandi” ensemble cast is led by Saif Ali Khan and features Kunal Roy Kapoor, Vijay Raaz and Amyra Dastur. Set in Mumbai’s underbelly, the film is a dark comedy about six characters from different walks of life whose paths collide during one monsoon night.

Success is vital for both Cinestaan and Khan. Cinestaan’s first venture into production, 2016’s “Mirzya,” was a critical and commercial disaster. And Khan is coming off a string of box office failures, the last one, 2017’s “Rangoon” made a painful dent in Viacom 18 Motion Pictures’ balance sheet.

Next up for Cinestaan is Bornila Chatterjee’s “Titus Andronicus” adaptation “The Hungry,” a co-production with Film London.
