Damage to half the visual cortex does not cause one eye to be blind, but rather the same half of each eye to be blind. Blindness in one eye and not the other can only be caused by damage to the eye itself or the optic nerve. This also means that either the blind sight experiment is incorrect or, more likely, the explanation of it is wrong. See more
