The boxing match being referred to is the Georges Carpentier-Jack Dempsey fight for the heavyweight title was fought on July 2, 1921 at Boyles' Thirty Acres off of Montgomery Street in Jersey City. Wooden bleachers were erected for the outdoor fight which drew a record 91,000 fans, had the first million dollar gate ($1,789,000), and was the first major sporting event broadcast on radio. Mayor Frank Hague used his considerable influence to bring the fight to Jersey City over other venues, Atlantic City and Manhattan's Polo Grounds.
William Forsythe, who plays a bootlegging butcher, also played Al Capone in the Untouchables (TV Series) from 1993-1994.
