Ray's former student reappears
23 November 2011 | by See all my reviews

Ray Drecker has gone to meet a client at a bar. The description he was given was to find a blonde with a red mini skirt. He mistakenly went to an attractive young woman who turns out to be Logan Lewis; Ray had been one of her teachers in high school. Fearing the worst, he realizes his cover is blown, but he should not have worried, Logan had no clue as to what he was doing in the bar. Getting rid of her, Logan informs him she never got over the D he gave her on the subject he taught. As he leaves, Ray finds a note from Logan. She wants to meet him!

Tanya on the other hand, had gone to jail to pay the bail for Charlie, the pimp. While waiting for Charlie to be processed, she receives a call from Ray. He is panicking because of the encounter with Logan that has unnerved him. He also is complaining about Lydia, the woman he has been 'servicing' who insists in playing a fantasy that she is arresting him and roughing him before they get to business. Charlie is finally let go, but he must wear an ankle bracelet so the police can monitor his moves. Tanya decides to take him to her apartment where they make passionate love.

Jessica has started a new job as a doctor's assistant with Dr. Matt Saline. This is the man whose wife was cheating with her husband Ronnie. As the doctor takes her through the office he has one advice for her: bring a lot of chocolate baked goodies so she can endear herself to the rest of the staff. In talking with the doctor, Jessica, inadvertently mentions he 'hand job' his wife was giving Ronnie. The doctor gets too upset, which is complicated when Mandy Saline shows in the office, creating quite a scene as she spots Jessica.

Lenore is visited by Jason. He definitely wants out because he has found out that his girlfriend Sandee is pregnant. Lenore does not buy the story, emphasizing how in demand the young stud is. She does not want to lose him. Lenore decides to have a conversation with Sandee at her house. It becomes clear Sandee is lying about her condition and Lenore catches her in the lie. Lenore realizes she is dealing with a smart operator here, so Sandee comes back at her demanding a flat screen television set and a blue ray player.

Ray goes to see Jessica and the kids. He has brought the old red Jeep so he can give it to the twins, and money for Jessica. The twins are disappointed to say the least, they were expecting a newer car! Ray keeps his appointment with Lydia, who proceeds to rough him up again. Ray is vocal about how he does not appreciate that part of their session, but it is already too late.

Tanya comes to an empty home. Charlie is missing. He is clearly violating the terms of his parole. She goes frantic looking for him. It does not take long to find him, having a meal at a diner. While trying to put some sense into the guy, she sees a police car come into the parking area. Charlie tells her to be cool. To her surprise, she sees Lydia in her uniform get out of the car. Another mystery solved.

Ray decides to go see Logan at her house. It is an impressive home. He finds her in a playful mood, as though expecting Ray to make a sexual overtone. It does not take long for that, but Logan is more interested in having Ray change her D to an A, something they begin bargaining about until she sees the convertible and the next thing we see is the two of them making it in the car.

Another good episode of this adult oriented series that tells it like it is. Obviously, this is not for everybody, but in spite of the sexy undertow, the show is not offensive, which is a credit for their creators Colette Burson and Dmitry Lipkin. This chapter though was written by Eduardo Machado, himself a noted playwright, and Drew Lindo. The direction is credited to Gloria Muzio who has been involved with the series.

The acting is one of the best things that can be said is the strongest part of the show. An inspired Jane Adams and Thomas Jane, are the ones that keep things alive. The supporting cast includes Anne Heche, Rebecca Creskoff and Lennie James, who contribute to make this one of the funniest series on television.
