Kim Coates to play title character in Officer Downe adaptation

Kim Cotes has landed the lead role in Officer Down.

The Sons of Anarchy star will play the title character in the adaptation of Joe Casey's graphic novel, Deadline reports.

The Image Comics' story centers around a cop who is killed in the line of duty.

Resurrected time and again by telekinesis, Officer Downe becomes the violent and slightly deranged secret weapon of the Lapd.

Slipknot co-founder M. Shawn "Clown" Crahan is making his feature film directing debut, having previously directed numerous Slipknot music videos.

Casey has adapted the novel for the big screen and Mark Neveldine and cartoonist Skip Williamson are producing. »
