Fire With Fire

Stars: Josh Duhamel, Rosario Dawson, Vincent D’Onofrio, Bruce Willis, 50 Cent, Julian McMahon, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, Vinnie Jones | Written by Tom O’Connor | Directed by David Barrett

The last time Bruce Willis and 50 Cent appeared in an action thriller for producers Randall Emmett and George Furla we got the god-awful Set-Up. Thankfully their latest endeavour, Fire With Fire, is an altogether more exciting prospect – a classic revenge thriller featuring one of my favourite actors, Law & Order: Criminal Intent‘s Vincent D’Onofrio, in a rare villainous role.

After witnessing the brutal murders of a convenience store-owner and his son, firefighter Jeremy Coleman (Duhamel) narrowly escapes with his life. As he is forced to testify against the crime lord, Hagan (D’Onofrio), he is placed in the witness protection program under the watch of the U.S. Marshalls. As his new identity becomes compromised Jeremy is forced to »

The Amazing Spider-Man It doesn't actually hit DVD and Blu-ray until Friday, November 9, but this week will see The Amazing Spider-Man find its way to shelves for you to own, but are you buying? I have been quite open with my feelings on this film, which I didn't think was very good, but I know there are fans out there that enjoyed it, but did you like it enough to shell out $15-20?

Rashomon (Criterion Collection) An excellent film from Akira Kurosawa and while I have yet to watch this new Blu-ray transfer I can only assume it is up to Criterion's typical lofty standards and I absolutely love that cover art, not that packaging is a reason to spend $25, but it sure does look good.

Sunset Boulevard I wrote about Sunset Blvd. recently and mentioned this new Blu-ray transfer, which looks great, just don't go expecting any new special »

Josh Duhamel Fights ‘Fire With Fire’ With Bruce Willis In Latest Trailer

25 September 2012 1:30 PM, PDT | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

Josh Duhamel takes the lead in the action thriller, Fire With Fire, in which a fireman witnesses a murder and after fingering the culprit (TeeHee!) he is sent into witness protection. But this wouldn’t be a movie if witness protection was any good, and so much like the title, Duhamel decides to fight Fire With Fire by going after those hunting him. I guess you could say the hunters become the pursued. It will be the feature length debut of director David Barrett, who has directed episodes of just about every TV show in the last few years including Castle, Once Upon A Time, Blue Bloods, The Mentalist, V, Supernatural and more.

The film looks pretty decent I must say and I like the idea of a man doing the right thing being pushed to extremes. Although, would a fireman be that much of a threat? Perhaps they’ll »

Bruce Willis In Talks To Star In Jeffrey Nachmanoff's 'American Assassin'

6 September 2012 4:37 PM, PDT | The Playlist | See recent The Playlist news »

Bruce Willis is having a pretty good year. Ok, so it hasn't exactly been spotless: few people liked "Lay The Favorite" at Sundance, and he's had some near-dtv level cameos in films like "The Expendables 2," this week's "Cold Light of Day" and the genuinely Dtv "Fire With Fire" (starring 50 Cent, who seems to be running some kind of sponsorship programme for aging tough-guy actors). But he also gave a lovely, atypical performance in Wes Anderson's "Moonrise Kingdom," and according to early reviews today, including our own, is pretty great in Rian Johnson's "Looper," a film that Willis has described as the best he's ever been in. So what next for Mr. Willis? Well, 2012 brings a triptych of action sequels, with "A Good Day To Die Hard," "Red 2" and a cameo in the delayed, troubled "G.I. Joe: Retaliation," but it looks like the star's on the look out for another part. »

Watch: Trailer For 'Fire With Fire' With 50 Cent, Bruce Willis & Rosario Dawson Is Predictably Awful; 8 Pics From The Film

50 Cent keeps churning 'em out, and what the fuck does he care if these movies are direct-to-dvd style drivel? Dude makes bank on these things so screw the haterz.

"They'll spend a $120 million on a film or a whole bunch of money making a film and then a whole bunch of money promoting it a year before it actually comes out, and the money they get back in theaters is just the money they spent... And then it goes to dvd and everything is profit there. Some of the movies I've done recently, I was financing and I've already seen a 60 percent return on what I've [been] involved with," the rapper/actor/producer said to a Tampa Bay radio station (via Shadow & Act). "They don't understand, they're looking at it and going, 'Well, it went straight-to-dvd,' and they don't realize I'm gonna get another $800,000 off each one of these projects. »

Josh Duhamel Fights 'Fire With Fire' in New Trailer

18 June 2012 1:12 PM, PDT | NextMovie | See recent NextMovie news »

There are a lot of ways to fight fires. For example, water is involved usually, although on some occasions, sand is substituted. When the fires really get out of control, though, the authorities have to go big scale, fighting fires with airplanes, helicopters and hastily constructed trenches.

But Josh Duhamel? That dude just straight up fights "Fire With Fire."

And we've got the new trailer to prove it.

Here's the skinny: In "Fire With Fire," Duhamel plays — you guessed it — a fireman whose life begins to blaze out of control when he witnesses a murder by a notorious psychopath, otherwise known as Vincent D'Onofrio. Naturally, Bruce Willis and Rosario Dawson play cops trying to help Duhamel out by getting him into witness protection stat. And just as naturally, that all goes right into the crapper, which means just one thing: it's time to fight fire with fire.

Oh, and also with 50 Cent. »
