A woman disguised as her brother, Henry, survives the Civil War and goes in search of the widow, Virginia, who saved her life. When they are reunited, Henry must confront the horrors of war in order to let true love in.

A woman takes on the identity of her brother in order to serve in the ranks during the Civil War. When the war is over she searches for the widow who saved her life during the battle of Antietam. Once she is reunited with this woman she is plagued by nightmares and must confront her demons and reconcile her war experiences in order to liberate herself to feel love fully.
