This show is still transitioning from Bob Barker to Drew Carey. It has pretty much changed to Carey now. It is doing fine, not suffering at all. Adam Sadler has made some good changes in the show as a producer too.
If you don't believe it, try watching Maury Povich, Jerry Springer, The View, & the Talk. Then watch this show. It is immediately evident that the happy people on this show are much more pleasant to watch.
TPIR is still a happiness high. The show always has the contestants, and none of these have the problems of cheating on this loved ones, not knowing who the father is, and thankfully none of these folks need a final word from Jerry Springer. (or thankfully any words from Whoppie).
I went to a couple of TPIR tapings a few years ago, the happiness on screen is on the street waiting to get in.
Warning, if you afraid of happiness overwhelming you at the end of watching TPIR, just watch the no spin zone that night.
