The Pact 2 Gets Distribution, First Look Photo Released

IFC Midnight - distributor of The Pact - has acquired The Pact 2, written and directed by Dallas Hallam and Patrick Horvath (Entrance).

The film stars Camilla Luddington, Patrick Fischler, Scott Michael Foster, Haley Hudson, Mark Steger and Caity Lotz, reprising her role from the first film.

The Pact 2 is set just weeks after Annie Barlow's deadly confrontation with the Judas Killer. In this "elevated sequel" (the press release's words, not ours), we meet June, a woman whose carefully constructed life is beginning to unravel due to lucid nightmares so awful they disturb her waking life.  Head inside for a larger version of the "first look" image you see to the right.

Studio-funded horror films seem to be less prevalent than they were three decades ago, and many mass-marketed horror films are lighter on gore, nudity, and the like than the features of yesteryear (with the obvious exception of the Evil Dead reboot). Greys Anatomy Star Camilla Luddington Signs up for The Pact II

Dallas Hallam and Patrick Horvath ('Entrance') are set to begin shooting on their follow-up to Nicholas McCarthy's 'The Pact'. The sequel simply titled 'The Pact II' (shocking!) has snagged the British born and down right hot 'Californication' and 'True Blood' star Camilla Luddington (below) for the lead role. Luddington, who currently appears as Jo Wilson is ABC's hit medical drama 'Grey's Anatomy', also voices Lara Croft in the newest 'Tomb Raider' video game. The actress is set to play the role of June Abbott in 'The Pact II', an L.A. woman tormented by a string of violent dreams in which people are slaughtered by a killer named Judas. 'Grey's Anatomy' Camilla Luddington cast in indie horror 'The Pact II'

Camilla Luddington has been cast in The Pact II.

The Grey's Anatomy actress will take on a leading role in the indie horror film.

The Pact II follows Luddington's character June Abbott, who is haunted by nightmares of serial killer Judas, Deadline reports. June soon discovers that she has a connection to Judas.

Luddington is attached to star alongside Patrick Fischler (Twister) and Californication's Scott Michael Foster.

Fischler will portray an FBI profiler named Greg Ballard, with Foster attached to star as police officer Daniel Meyer, who is June's boyfriend.

The Pact II will be directed by Dallas Hallam and Patrick Horvath of Entrance fame. Filming is due to kick off in mid June.

Aside from her role as Dr Jo Wilson in Grey's Anatomy, Luddington's previous credits include Lifetime TV movie William & Kate, in which she played Kate Middleton opposite Nico Evers-Swindell as Prince William.

The Pact II will begin filming next month and many of the main roles have been cast. Camilla Luddington (Grey’s Anatomy, True Blood, Californication) will be taking on the lead role of June Abbot in the movie. According to a new report, her character “ is plagued by nightmares of serial killer Judas, who she discovers she has a far closer relationship with than previously imagined.”

Patrick Fischler has been cast as FBI profiler Greg Ballard and Scott Michael Foster will be playing a cop who is also June Abbot’s boyfriend. Dallas Hallam and Patrick Horvath (Entrance) are taking over for director Nicholas McCarthy for the sequel, with production expected to begin next month. During the European Film Market, it was revealed Dallas Hallam and Patrick Horvath would be directing The Pact 2, a sequel to Nicholas McCarthy's 2012 film.  The duo directed the critically divisive indie thriller Entrance (also released last year).

There's lots of news today coming out of the European Film Market in Berlin, and rather than write several stories, we figured it would be a little easier to drop the whole thing on you in one neat package. Read on!

First up for you Nazi zombie fans, writer and director Tommy Wirkola (Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters) is returning to his native Norway to direct the action-filled Dead Snow: War of the Dead.

“Set to be released in both English and Norwegian, the new film follows the sole survivor of a Nazi zombie attack who battles an even larger army of zombies with the help of the Zombie Squad, a professional gang of zombie killers from the Us.

Wirkola says of the new script for his sequel to the cult hit Dead Snow: “[It's] bigger, scarier, funnier, more action-filled and gorier than the previous one.”
