Summer 2012 is nowhere near as massive as Summer 2011. But you know, that may be a blessing in disguise. How can a summer with The Avengers, Prometheus, and The Dark Knight Rises Possibly go wrong? Well, it can't. So, even though Summer 2012 isn't as over-packed as Summer 2011 one, there's still plenty for film fans to salivate over. So without further ado, let's get started! Babymaking with Olivia Munn in Babymakers Red Band
Sorry, readersm trailer removed by request.
If you weren’t previously a fan of actress Olivia Munn, this latest Red Band trailer for her upcoming film, Babymakers, may just have you singing a brand new tune. Hey, just don’t say we didn’t warn you that this one was a Red Band trailer! As you can imagine, there will be baby-making in the film, and then some.
In the film, a 31-year-old Munn shares the screen with Parks & Recreation actor Paul Schneider. Babymakers is a comedy that reveals just how far one couple will go in order to conceive a child. Yes, they’ll even try ripping off a sperm bank, with a little help from their friends, of course. That’s not the type of undertaking you want to tackle all alone. The film is scheduled for a 2013 release.
Jay Chandrasekhar directs the film. »

With the end of 2011 coming in just a few days, studios are unloading new photos for their upcoming 2012 slate in an attempt to entice viewers who aren't yet winded by the holiday movie onslaught.
Not opening until June is Warner Brothers' Jack the Giant Killer, which is a riff on the Jack and the Beanstalk tale and follows a young farmhand named Jack (X-Men:First Class' Nicholas Hoult) who opens up a door to another world and must save a princess (Alice in Wonderland's Eleanor Tomlinson) and destroy the giants he has unwittingly unleashed. the new photo, which shows Jack climbing the bean stalk into the other world, is only a screenshot from the recently-released first trailer, but the synopsis below is new.
Jack the Giant Killer tells the story of an ancient war that is reignited when a young farmhand unwittingly opens a gateway between our world and a fearsome race of giants. »

Steven Soderbergh's male stripper movie Magic Mike has released its first picture. Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer and Matthew McConaughey feature in the teaser image, which sees them decked out in army gear midway through a routine. The comedy movie is based on Tatum's own experiences as a male stripper before he broke through as an actor in Hollywood. Tatum plays Mike Martingano, who takes Pettyfer's 'The Kid' under his wing to introduce him to the world of stripping. Matt Bomer, Joe (more) »

A first image has arrived for Steven Soderbergh’s Magic Mike, and would you believe it – Matthew McConaughey’s only gone and taken his shirt off! The first image shows McConaughey in the midst of a strip routine, alongside musclebound co-stars Alex Pettyfer and Channing Tatum. How he’s going to get out of those impossibly tight jeans is beyond us, but we’re sure he’ll find a way… The film is based upon Tatum’s real life experiences as a male stripper, with Pettyfer playing a newcomer to the...

If you ever wondered what a Steven Soderbergh stripper movie might look like (and come on, I know I'm not the only one out there who's wondered about that) well, wonder no more.
The Academy Award-winning director's upcoming film about hot dudes who take their clothes off for money — "Magic Mike," perhaps better known as the "Channing Tatum and other shirtless Hollywood hunks" movie — has released its first still, showing stars Tatum, Alex Pettyfer, Joe Manganiello and Matthew McConaughey showing off their, ah, patriotism on stage.
Our friends over at Hollywood Crush are very understandably drooling over the new photo, so head over there for more on the movie.

Matthew McConaughey, we salute you. While real firefighters, cops and infantry men might be too busy actually doing their jobs to strip down to their bronzer-stained thongs, Matt and co-stars Alex Pettyfer, Channing Tatum and Joe Manganiello prepare to bare it all for our benefit in the first official photo from Steven Soderbergh‘s upcoming Magic Mike. A film where McConaughey gets to combine his hatred of shirts with our love of themed semi-nudity? Let. Freedom. Ring.
If the Lincoln Lawyer star wasn’t already pleased with the service he’s doing for his country (i.e. whatever you call those indents under a guy’s abs), McConaughey is also currently riding a camouflage pontoon boat of love down the surging river of holiday engagements. “Just asked camila to marry me, #MerryChristmas,” Matthew tweeted this weekend, along with a photo of a kiss shared with girlfriend and mother of his two children Camila Alves. »

Color me shocked. After years of famously refusing to remove his clothing for films, Matthew McConaughey has finally given in and stripped down. Magic Mike must be a hell of a project to make him betray his own ethical stance against half-nudity in film. Either that, or Steven Soderberg must have convinced him that he had to get partially naked in order to co-star. Well, I hope it was worth it, Mr. McConaughey. I hope it was worth your dignity. As you can see, Warners has released the first official image from the movie (which is also the first image ever of McConaughey without any top cover) that stars Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer, McConaughey and Olivia Munn. As we all know, it’s about male strippers. As we know because of this picture, it’s about patriotic strippers. And, as you can tell, we finally know why McConaughey refused to take his top off before now. Eesh »

Channing Tatum’s project “Magic Mike,” a film about male strippers, finally has its first movie still. Entertainment Weekly reported on the Americana-themed still today, which shows Tatum on the far right end as well as (l-r) Joe Manganiello, Alex Pettyfer and Matthew McConaughey. However, while Magnaniello, Pettyfer and Tatum all have wifebeaters on, McConaughey is the only one shirtless. If you’re a McConaughey fan, this is probably your lucky day. I guess if you’re a fan of any one of these actors, it’s probably your lucky day. You can view the picture at Entertainment Weekly or below the post. “Magic Mike” is a film written by Tatum’s production partner Reid »

Jay Chandrasekhar and all of the Broken Lizard guys are complete geniuses, and whilst The Babymakers may not be an official Broken Lizard film, written instead by the writing team of Peter Gaulke and Gerry Swallow (Ice Age: The Meltdown), the film looks like another brilliant one starring the comedy team.
Directed by Chandrasekhar, The Babymakers is led by Paul Schneider (Lars and the Real Girl) and Olivia Munn (Soderbergh’s upcoming Magic Mike), with all of the Broken Lizard guys – Chandrasekhar, Kevin Hofferman, Paul Soter, Steve Lemme, and Erik Stolhanske – filling out the supporting cast, along with some other Broken Lizard regulars.
The first red band trailer has hit the net, via Collider and Film School Rejects, and it is pretty damn awesome. Schneider and Munn star as a couple trying and failing to get pregnant when they discover Schneider’s swimmers are a little on the slow side. »

Warner Bros. 2012 Preview
Photo: Warner Bros. Warner Bros. decided the day after Christmas would be the best day to release a slew of new images previewing their upcoming 2012 films. Okay, I'm game, let's see what you've got... Inside the preview we have new images from several of their upcoming films including three from Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises, a first look at Steven Soderbergh's male stripper movie Magic Mike starring Channing Tatum and Matthew McConaughey, a first look at Ruben Fleischer's The Gangster Squad with Sean Penn and Josh Brolin, a look at Ben Affleck's next feature Argo and Sylvester Stallone's Bullet to the Head. And it doesn't end there as I have more from the likes of Dark Shadows, Jack the Giant Killer, Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, Rock of Ages, The Lucky One, Project X and Joyful Noise. So, what I have »

Love him or hate him, you'll be seeing a lot of Channing Tatum in 2012: Shooting at things in Steven Soderbergh's Haywire, romancing Rachel McAdams in The Vow, going to the prom with Jonah Hill in 21 Jump Street, fighting Cobra in G.I. Joe Retaliation, and possibly getting killed by Steve Carell in Bennett Miller's Foxcatcher. But if I'm being honest, the one I'm really curious about is Soderbergh's Magic Mike, which stars Tatum as an experienced stripper who takes a newbie (Alex Pettyfer) under his wing. It's not just the idea of near-naked men parading around, I promise -- I'm intrigued by the unusual premise and the interesting cast, and am hoping to see a bit of Soderbergh's sly sense of humor. But yeah, the promise of buff, shirtless dudes helps too. After the jump, check out the first image, featuring Tatum, Pettyfer, and Joe Manganiello in military-themed costumes, »

Pretty much everyone got to open up a few packages on Christmas yesterday, but today, we have some packages that might just be for the ladies. Warner Bros. has released the first official photo from Steven Soderbergh's male stripper drama Magic Mike starring Channing Tatum, Matthew McConaughey, Alex Pettyfer and some other ripped young men who will be scantily clad in theaters. The last time male strippers were prominent on film was The Full Monty, but these guys put the British gang to shame with McConaughey in his default shirtless form and Tatum and Pettyfer suited up for more than military action. Here's our first look at Steven Soderbergh's Magic Mike courtesy of Warner Bros. (via Collider): Magic Mike is directed by Steven Soderbergh (Ocean's Eleven, Contagion, Out of Sight) and written by Reid Carolin. Channimg Tatum plays the titular male stripper in a story that draws »

Here's our first look at Steven Soderbergh's male stripper film Magic Mike, which gives us our first look at Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer, Joe Manganiello, and a shirtless Matthew McConaughey as male strippers.
As much as I love the films that Soderbergh makes, as of right now I have no interest at all in seeing this movie. The trailer will have to sell me on it, as this movie looks like it will be more targeted to the ladies.
The script was written by Reid Carolin and was inspired by real-life story of Tatum's early career as a male stripper. Tatum plays the title character, "who schools a young dancer (Pettyfer) in how to hustle on and off the stage. It's a wild summer of dancing, partying, and women. The inspiration was Channing's own experiences as a stripper when he was 19." McConaughey plays Dallas, a former stripper who owns »
The first official photo from Steven Soderbergh’s male stripper movie Magic Mike starring, from left to right, Joe Manganiello, Alex Pettyfer, Matthew McConaughey, and Channing Tatum, shows the actors in what appears to be a patriotic group number. I love this shot for two reasons: It attempts to keep the mystery alive by only showing us McConaughey shirtless, and it gives us something to debate — which song are they stripping to? My first thought, because McConaughey’s get-up reminded me of Apollo Creed in Rocky IV, was James Brown’s “Living in America.” But that doesn’t feel sexy enough. »
