Selena Gomez Nominated For Worst Actress Razzie Award For ‘Getaway’

30 December 2013 7:01 AM, PST | HollywoodLife | See recent HollywoodLife news »

Selena’s turn as a gun-toting, car-almost-jacking thrill-seeker on the big screen has earned her a major nomination!

“I stood up and cheered!” raved absolutely no one who saw Selena Gomez and Ethan Hawke‘s 2013 film Getaway, so it’s no surprise the action-thriller is nominated for three Razzie Awards, presented to the year’s less-than-stellar cinematic works. But hey, a nomination’s a nomination — even if the category is “Worst Actress” — so we’d like to take this time to congratulate our girl Selena on her prestigious recognition.

Selena Gomez’s Razzie Nomination: Why We’re Proud Of Her

Films are designed to move us, one way or another, and Getaway did just that. Selena’s film stirred enough emotion within the hearts and minds of the Razzies’ nominating committee that it chose to bestow this nomination upon her, and for that, we salute her.

The Worst Movies of 2013 Review Themselves

20 December 2013 9:55 AM, PST | NextMovie | See recent NextMovie news »

Via MTV News — Everyone loves reading critics' takedowns of movies, so much so that Roger Ebert even put out a book called "Your Movie Sucks."

But you probably didn't realize that the harshest movie critics are the movies themselves.

We've put together a supercut showing that this year's movies seemed to have a bit of a self-esteem problem. Wondering what the makers of"After Earth" thought of their film? You'll see star Jaden Smith proclaim "That sucked," while his father Will tells him "That is correct." Want to explain the failure of "The Internship?" John Goodman can help you out by looking straight at Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn and telling them "You two are dinosaurs, face it." How does Halle Berry feel about being in "The Call"? Well, as she says, "Sometimes we all get into situations that sometimes get out of our control."

Marvel Studios' yarn earns nearly $150m in Us and $332m globally but Catching Fire will be in cinemas for Thanskgiving

Thor makes hay

Marvel Studios' superhero yarn has not wasted its two-week window of opportunity between release and the launch (this week) of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.

Since it launched on 8 November, Thor: The Dark World has earned just under $150m (£93m) in North America and an extra $332m (£206m) internationally to bring the global haul to $480m (£297m) through Disney's distribution pipes.

The mighty hammer can still smash through another $100m (£62m) at the global box office, but the scion of Asgard's progress is likely to slow to a regal prowl once Catching Fire arrives on 22 November.

People’s Choice Awards Nominees: Lea Michele, ‘Vampire Diaries’ & More

5 November 2013 11:15 AM, PST | HollywoodLife | See recent HollywoodLife news »

The 2014 People’s Choice Awards nominations were announced Nov. 5, and with fan-favorites like Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder, Lucy Hale & Lea Michele all racking up nominations, our heads are spinning!

The People’s Choice Awards has always been one of the stand-out fun awards show offerings, but this year’s ceremony is looking to be a bloodbath. Jared Padalecki vs. Jensen Ackles vs. Stephen Amell vs. Ian Somerhalder vs. Andrew Lincoln? Pretty Little Liars vs. The Walking Dead? (How does one even vote on that?) At least no matter who wins, it’s somebody we like, right? (Wrong. So wrong. This is huge!)

Vampires, Liars, Doctors, and Walkers: The TV Noms

With plenty of viable candidates, the TV nominations are as brutally difficult as ever this year. Some of our favorite categories include “Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Show,” which has Beauty and the Beast, Once Upon A Time, SupernaturalThe Vampire Diaries, »
