Storyline

At the foot of a grand stairway leading up the Hotel Bertolini, Naples, Italy, the tourists arrive, John Richman, his wife, also his son and heir, Jack. They are met by the usual Italian street players. The tourists installed in the hotel; beautiful view of the Bay of Naples. Jack falls in love with an Italian street singer, much to the objection of father. He meets her by moonlight and they plan their future together. Jack has a swell supper with the little Italian girl and is unable to settle the account. His father, Mr. Richman, refuses to pay, discovers Jack's love affair, threatens to cut him off without a penny if he doesn't give up the girl. Jack hits upon a plan. He arranges with the hotel keeper and writes a letter to his father. They engage the waiters to dress as brigands and kidnap him. All is ready. The father receives the note demanding $20,000 for his son's ransom. He agrees to bring the money. The father starts to release the son. The masquerading brigands blindfold ...
