William wore the dress uniform of an Irish Guards Colonel. He was appointed to the honorary position of Colonel of the Regiment several months earlier in February 2011. On his uniform he wore his Knight of the Order of the Garter star and blue riband, attached on which was his RAF pilot's wings and Golden Jubilee Medal.
