Q&A with Thomas Roche Author of The Panama Laugh

18 December 2012 2:00 PM, PST | FEARnet | See recent FEARnet news »

With his debut novel, writer and editor Thomas Roche explores the world of viral warfare, zombies, and life in the trenches – among other things. The Panama Laugh takes an interesting twist on the idea of the zombie apocalypse. Not only do the undead hordes want to eat the flesh and brains of the living, but they laugh while doing it. Roche took some time to answer questions about his new book and his plans for the future (if the world lasts that long).

FEARnet: The Panama Laugh is your debut novel, and it's about laughing zombies and covert ops. Can you tell us a bit more about it?

Thomas Roche: The Panama Laugh resulted from a suggestion by Night Shade Books editor Jeremy Lassen that the Armory building in San Francisco would be the ideal place for survivors to hole up in case of zombie apocalypse. The building currently hosts a porn company, »

Viral Package Arrives On Our Doorstep With a Bullet - Promo for Oldboy?

17 December 2012 10:48 AM, PST | shocktillyoudrop.com | See recent shocktillyoudrop news »

FilmDistrict sent ShockTillYouDrop.com a package this morning: A wooden box that reads, on its lid "Blood Demands Blood."  Inside, a Usb drive shaped like a bullet which is accompanied by a card that says, "The evidence is in the bullet 12/18 BloodDemandsBlood.com," and on the flipside of said card: "I saw what you did."

When you open the Usb's folder, there's a file that directs you to a site with a video that does not work yet - I'm presuming I should check back on the 18th to see what this is all about.

Now, there's some speculation as to what film is generating this viral campaign and we're going to go out on a limb and guess it is Spike Lee's Oldboy remake.  The film doesn't hit theaters until October 11, 2013, however.  But it's a FilmDistrict title, nonetheless.  Another guess is the Jason Statham-starring Parker, opening January 25th, »

New Trailer for Jason Statham's Parker

16 December 2012 8:00 AM, PST | GeekTyrant | See recent GeekTyrant news »

Jason Statham has a new movie coming out called Parker, and I am usually super psyched for them... but this is probably the first time I am not. I have no idea why somebody would give a british guy a texan accent as a "disguise"... you are setting yourself up for failure. Then there's Jennifer Lopez... she'll also set you up for failure.

The movie will be released on January 25th, 2013. Here is the latest trailer...

Jason Statham... you can do better.

New Featurette and Trailer for Jason Statham’s Parker

14 December 2012 7:05 PM, PST | Beyond Hollywood | See recent Beyond Hollywood news »

Jason Statham dresses up as a “Texan” and does a horrific accent in the new actioner “Parker”. Find out why he’s subjecting himself and us to this barbarism in a new trailer and featurette for the upcoming movie, co-starring Jennifer Lopez as some kind of hacker or some such. I suspect “Parker” will go the way of most Statham movies — good but not great, enjoyed by fans of the Stath, but few else. As one of those fans, I don’t mind that one bit.
