0/10 for a serious movie, 10/10 for pure laughs and nonsense

Sometimes you come across a movie that just peaks your curiosity. I came across Bloodlust Zombies while making my weekly Blu-Ray/DVD release article (comes out every Saturday, so be sure to check it out!). It stars a girl named Alexis Texas. I thought it was a cute name and as it turns out.... this is her first foray into actual films. Well, if you don't know already, Alexis Texas is a porn star. Yep, ya heard me right. I had no idea she was a porn star either until I did some research. And I know Traci Lords started out in porn and made a somewhat lucrative jump to mainstream, curiosity peaked, I journeyed forth... with Bloodlust Zombies.

Andrea (Texas) works as a secretary at a high security office building. It seems that they've developed a serum that creates people to become completely mad and go crazy and kill whatever is in their way. The lab associates have been testing the toxins on a pair of kitty cats and when one of them gets out during a scuffle in the lab, all hell breaks loose and Voila! instant zombies that have an insatiable bloodlust. Alexis Texas even has a sex scene with her dirty ol' man boss, Bobby Lee (Heath). Don't worry, it's before the zombie apocalypse, so it makes total sense -- we wouldn't want to have gratuitous sex/nudity, now would we? I love how they bill this as Alexis Texas' movie, but she isn't even the real star of the show here. Judy (Marie), Darren (Danoff), Sandra (Dewey) and even the director himself (as an inept by-the-book security guard) have more overall screen time. But, when you have a porn queen on your casting call sheet, it's wise to try and market her to your advantage.

If the plot sounds silly to you, it's because it is. This movie is pretty bad, but it's one of those movies that's so bad, it's actually fun to watch. The acting is so terrible and the lines are so cheesy, I had a constant smile throughout the whole movie. I loved this line delivered by Judy when Andrea and Darren are asking her what's going on: Judy: "Until, one day, out of the blue, one of the children from the school that we were rebuilding walked in with an AK-47 and shot my husband...killed him...just killed him dead."

Oh, killed him DEAD. I thought you meant the other killed, lol.

So, how did Alexis Texas do in her feature debut? Well, I've seen worse, but not much. It's funny how some actors can just be natural on camera but others it takes them some time to make it seem natural... and I'm not sure what was up with her facial expressions throughout the show. She looked like she was either trying to squint to read the cue cards or trying for a look that made her seem like she was angry and upset with everything that was going on around her.

Watch it for how bad it is rather than the intense zombie film they were shooting for. I can guarantee you that you will get more than a few chuckles out of just how horrible everything in this movie is --- right down to the spaghetti-sauce blood they were using. More reviews at Final Grade: F (for seriousness) B+ (for just how funny bad it is)
