Storyline

In a special Take 2 program, Roger Ebert and Gene Siskel each picks his favorite movies of the 1970s. We see clips from four of Siskel's choices: Last Tango in Paris (1972), The Sorrow and the Pity (1969), Annie Hall (1977) and The Emigrants (1971). (The last is paired on his list with its sequel, The New Land (1972).) And we see clips from four of Ebert's: An Unmarried Woman (1978), Apocalypse Now (1979), Amarcord (1973) and Breaking Away (1979). The remaining movies on Siskel's list: The Conversation (1974), Mean Streets (1973), The Last Detail (1973), Saturday Night Fever (1977) and Le Boucher (1970). The remaining movies on Ebert's list: Nashville (1975), Days of Heaven (1978), The Deer Hunter (1978), Heart of Glass (1976) and Cries & Whispers (1972). Both critics also picked The Godfather (1972) and The Godfather: Part II (1974). Written by J. Spurlin
