It's the weekend, and the lads are off on the town! What could possibly go wrong? How about the end of the world as we know it. 'Something' has happened, the undead are out in force, roaming the streets and devouring all who get in their way. Several groups of unlikely people find themselves trapped together in an emergency rescue centre, but no rescue is coming! So as the country goes to hell overnight, and the reality sinks in, how and what will these people do to survive. Written by
I don't know why people don't seem to like this as I thought it was very good indeed, in fact this is the best zombie film I have seen for a long time. It's obviously a low budget affair but that makes it all the more impressive for me, I think the acting on the whole was good and I didn't find myself cringing at any particular scenes, the special effects were very good and certainly should satisfy any fans of gore. The story played out well and I thought some of the ideas were actually quite unique to this film and genre (I won't spoil it for those who've not seen it yet), I also liked the way that the film ended. I found the characters believable enough and thought that some scenes conveyed the sense of emotion that a situation like this would bring up in a person very well. So on the whole it's a great zombie film and deserves better recognition, as long as your not expecting a huge budget Hollywood type of zombie film with loads of cgi (yawn) then fans of the genre will find a heck of a lot to enjoy in this smart little film.
