Very funny, sly, wicked, and ultimately charming

Leggero is a strange sort of phenom.

She has a cult following, does a fair amount of second-tier TV, and occasionally will even turn up as a judge on "reality shows" like LAST COMIC STANDING.

But does she have what it takes to strut her stuff with the name comics? The answer is a definitive yes.

There are two basic requirements for a solid comedy performance. Material and delivery. Each needs to be good. One without the other will not do.

Legerro not only has both but also manages to inject a lot of her own "bad girl" personality into the act.

And -- a skill that takes A-list comics years to learn -- she can work the audience and deal with hecklers, all without missing a beat.

The most interesting part of the routine, for this reviewer, is when she returns home to the northeast and criticizes her mother's accent, only to be reminded that she used to talk that way too.

It is funny, revealing and a little painful at the same time.

Leggero clearly never wanted comedy to be her entire career.

Which means this segment is a rare peek at what could have been.
