The team meets 8,000 feet+ high at Mt. Kibari Basecamp after Karen Scott reports her husband, Alan, missing at 10,000+ feet in the brutal Alaskan mountains. Hardison describes the scene as a danger cupcake with murder icing, and Alan, a seasoned climber, may well have been murdered. There is a race to find Alan-- the team, Karen and various real estate moguls, lawyers, investment bankers and business associates of Alan want to locate him and (more importantly) the business notebook Karen hopes he is carrying. In a cameo as Alan Scott, Eric Stoltz is, as ever, some kind of wonderful! Written by LA-Lawyer

Did You Know?

The mountaineering scenes were filmed in Oregon, near Mount Hood, some 80 km east-southeast of Portland. According to an interview with Timothy Hutton, the snowfall was real, not staged, and the cast managed to get some filming done "...between the major snowball fights". There is no actual Mount Kibari in Alaska (there is, however, a town named Kibari in Rwanda). See more »

The tree-line in Alaska is about 7,800 ft. Elliot and Parker are at 8,000 ft at the emergency tent, and the trees there are full sized conifers. See more »

Nathan Ford: Let's go steal a mountain
Parker: Again
Nathan Ford: What?
Parker: Again. We already stole a mountain two years ago.
Nathan Ford: Really?
Eliot Spencer: Technically it was a mountain resort, not a mountain, but, yeah.
Alec Hardison: You were also very drunk on that one.

The Leverage Team climbs a mountain in Alaska
4 July 2011 | by See all my reviews

Dean Devlin brings to you another all-star season of Leverage, with an incredible actor/character dynamic led by Timothy Hutton.

As with the earlier seasons of this show, the first episode of this season demonstrates the powerful emotionally communicative capabilities of each member of the cast in fulfillment of their character roles.

Gina Belman continues to portray the penultimate con artist with style; While Aldis Hodge shows the emotional conflict involved with a hacker trying to operate in a less than optimum environment. Christian Kane refrains from letting lose with his bad boy capabilities in this episode, while Beth Reisgraf continues to expand on the emotional complexities of her character.

Eric Stoltz guest stars in (IMO) one of his best performances. If it doesn't make you cry, you have no heart.

I expect this show to continue to be one of the best on television. Excellent writing, excellent casting, above average cinematography and very good direction; yes, this show deserves some Emmys.
